Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid. 2017 performance / installation. 3 x 4 m soil, plastic sheet, Bird masks, Fake Stones (plaster, wire frame and acrylic), nike sportsocks, LED light, four Paintings (acrylic on canvas) The Performance on the opening night was a collaboration with Miro Widmer. videodocumentation: https://youtu.be/m_mmzstivhi

Exhibition text Liquid Fertilizer, Kunstverein Freiburg: A mud-covered plastic foil spreads out on the floor of the exhibition space. The surface smells of damp soil, which could be thawed permafrost. Various objects complement the scenery: bird masks and tennis socks laid on stones - both visible traces of the performance that took place on the opening evening at the Kunstverein. The bird masks are reminiscent of plague doctor s masks worn since the early modern age to protect against the deadly epidemic. The special head shape of the masks also reminds us of David Cronenberg s film the fly, in which the protagonist slowly transforms into an insect. Together with the paintings leaning against the wall, the installation be afraid. be very afraid speculates about a scenario in which released bacteria, viruses or other microorganisms now come to life thawed out. It remains to be seen whether it will result in an apocalyptic catastrophe. The deposited Nike socks point to fashionable macro trends of a highly technical consumer society and create an additional narrative extension of the installation. exhibition views: Kunstverein Freiburg

BIKINI Welcomes You, 2017 Installation / Cooking Performance the art collective BIKINI has inaugurated their art space with a cooking performance and selfmade ceramics (www.bikini-space.ch)

Listen to the exhibition-soundtrack i wrote in cooperation with Lea Rüegg: https://soundcloud.com/yah-nique/bikini-welcomes-you-exhibition-soundtrack

melted snowball effect, 2016 performance / installation. 3 x 4 m. Colored water in acrylic glass basin, plastic sheet, aquarium hoses, drawing as Jacquard knitted cloth (merino wool) in a vacuum bag, cables, speakers, audio-mixer, contact microphones, aluminium masks, plastic foil, wooden frames.

A performer plays a concert on a water basin. A drawing knitted as a wool jacquard is the notation for the performer. The basin is microphoned and the audio signals through Effects manipulated. Five masked people film and photograph the performance. The coloured water leaves traces on the plastic sheet. Inspiration is the water percussion of the Baka Forest People. For this work I operated as a director and asked various artists and musicians for a certain collaboration, e. g. for composition, performance or set design. Die Bande performing The White Cube Hotel, 2016 Hotel-project with Lea Rüegg, Fidel Stadelmann and Marc Norbert Hörler

The art collective Die Bande used the institution Ausstellungsraum Klingental in Basel to run a hotel during the Art Basel Week. We used the internet platform Air BnB to look for hotel guests. One overnight stay cost 30 francs. We were fully booked at the end. Our offer: Sleeping tents, lockers, self-made showers in the garden, breakfast in the morning and a bar in the evening. Two members of the collective spent the entire night in the hotel. During the day from 12:00-18:00 the hotel was open for visitors.
