OUR FIRST COLLECTIONS ESSENTIALS AND CRAFTS It doesn t have to be complicated JENNIFER VAN LITSENBORG SACHA VERVECKKEN 02 MAISON LEX At Maison Lex we design clothes for the little ones ages zero to three. The creation of each garment is an individual process where we focus on the look and feel. During the design process we always look for details which make an item stand out visually. Not through prints and wild colors, but through simplicity and the actual design. This is where our brand reflects us as individuals. We strive to create pieces which are soft on the skin, practical and comfortable. The use of organic cotton and other organic natural fibre in our clothing is not only for ecological purposes, they are better for the skin too. We try to look for fabric that has a minium impact on both the environment and sensitive skin. We operate and design from our main office which is based in Antwerp. Fabric is sourced in Italy and Portugal and after the design process, the clothes are being produced by a family run business near Porto (Portugal). With our brand we also want to create some awareness on sustainability. By making quality pieces, the purpose is to have longlasting items that can be passed on to siblings, friends and family and create a circular economy beyond the borders of production. We hope you enjoy your Lex item as much as we do enjoy designing them. MAISON LEX MAKING IT HAPPEN It s not about dreams. It s about making dreams happen 09 EVERY IDEA HAS A PERSONAL BACKGROUND THIS IS NOT DIFFERENT FOR US Our son has very sensitive skin. From day one our attention was drawn to the use of hypo-allergenic products, food and also clothes that are not irritating. Knowing the softness and effects of organic cotton, this was what we searched for when buying clothes. The idea of Maison Lex grew as we couldn t always find what we were looking for. Not being experienced in the fashion industry made it an exciting journey. A full year of research, design, partnering,... lead us to where we are today. We have created a kids label that brings our thoughts, inspirations and dreams together. We love being creative for ones happiness and comfort

MAISON LEX 12 13 MAISON LEX The Tilly dress is the only dress in the collection. It is a simple yet elegant design that exudes class. The collar and closing in the back gives the dress that little extra.the cotton fleece fabric makes it suitable to create playful memories on cold winter days.

MAISON LEX 20 21 MAISON LEX We have chosen 4 colors in this AW s collection. We have a warm Etruscan Red that is inspired by the color of the earth. Our color Myrtle Green gives us the feeling of being in a leafy forest amongst the wonders of mother nature creating some winter memories. The color Turbulence Grey says it all. Explore the boundaries of earth even on cold and rainy days. And then there is this Snow White, that brings us back balance in this vivid world.

MAISON LEX AUTUMN WINTER 2018-2019 24 25 MAISON LEX The details in each item are their simplicity. We believe a child s expression should not be shown in it s clothing, but it s clothing can be a canvas to support creativity. The Ville pants has one pocket on the back. An unbalance somewhere gives you the opportunity to naturally look for a solution. The Valde salopette can be worn with the straps crossed or straight, both knotted through the back holes. Miksi (short sleeve) is a t-shirt with a romper attached inside in the same color. Active kiddos can freely jump around, crawl up and under obstacles keeping everything in place. Longsleeve Magun stands out through it s simplicity. A longsleeve that feels like a second skin. Us adults would want this too. The same can be said for the Taiga henley. Tilly is THE dress this AW to turn to. It is easy, elegant and pretty. Because of the use of soft tone uni-colors, most of the items can be mixed and matched. There are 2 fabric types throughout the collection. The three tops are an interlock stitch providing a good but supportive stretch. The bottom pieces and dress are in a fleece fabric being super soft and warm on the inside and having the same look as the tops on the outside. We have opted for fine and minimal stitching, also button snaps are being hidden when possible to keep this elegant and sleek look throughout the collection. The names of the items refer to the sleddogs who accompanied us during our back to nature trip in Lapland. You can say that we are inspired by the wonders of nature in all it s facets.

CRAFTS COLLECTION MAISON LEX CRAFTS 44 HANDMADE A sustainable collaboration MAISON LEX PARTNESHIP WITH SOLID CRAFTS The Lex Crafts collection is an exclusive part of our brand. In this collection we put full focus on slow fashion in it s purest form. This collection follows it s own timeline and path. We carefully handpick the materials and colors to get the best possible result on eco-friendliness, sustainability and fair fashion. Meaning opportunities can come across anytime. Because of the specific selection of materials and craftsmanship, most of the items are limited. For our current 2 items in the collection we have teamed up with an organisation that trains and employs underprivileged women in India. We are happy to take part in this project enabling people to secure a stable environment for future generations. The Billi scarf and Opal beanie are handmade piece by piece. They are made of a combination of Merino wool, peace silk and organic cotton. Merino wool comes from Merino sheep and is soft, warm, helps prevent overheating, pulls moisture away from the skin, is 100% natural and allergy free. BILLI HANDMADE SCARF A long and chunky handknitted scarf. By combining 3 natural fibres, it creates a nice color blend and structure. It is made to last season after season. 50%merino wool-25% peace silk-25% organic cotton Sizes:0-12m/12-36m OPAL HANDMADE BEANIE A chunky handknitted beanie hat. It is made of the same combination of natural yarn as the Billi scarf.
