Word from the Author The Hair Growth Formula (Naturally Intense) My name is Jonathan Walton; I m 38 and live in NYC. I am the author of this book. First of all, I would like to congratulate you for purchasing it and also to thank you for trusting my work with your money. I m positive it will serve you well. I would like to start with a brief run through my background. Honestly, if you had met me two years ago, you d probably have no chance of recognizing me today. People around me made jokes about the bald spot that had appeared on my head, and which started to look less like a spot and more like a patch. I thought it didn t bother me, but deep down I felt insecure and embarrassed of my condition. John is so bald, that when he took a shower he got brainwashed or John is so bald, that you can see what s on his mind. These were just two of the running gags between my friends. Little did I know back then that what was once a bald patch meant so much more than a blow to my ego. It had never crossed mine or my funny friends minds that I was putting my life at risk. As it turned out, my hair-loss came with a prostate cancer diagnostic. They had the same root: a bizarre male hormone that went haywire, poisoning my blood and my hair follicles. For a couple of years, I tried to fix my receding hairline and the bald patch on top of my head using every remedy I could get my hands on. I tried topical sprays and shampoos like Rogaine and Nioxin, pills such as Propecia, all sorts of juices which tasted awful. I started getting frustrated because nothing seemed to work, and every new treatment started adding up to a small fortune. Moreover, after giving up Rogaine, my hair started falling off even quicker. I simply couldn t take it anymore, but I had no idea what to do. 3

There hadn t been a remedy I have not tried, and I was seriously starting to consider getting an implant. It was that hard for me to deal with my new appearance and people around me didn't make it any easier. I was avoiding all the mirrors around me, and I was doing the same with people. Those couples of months after giving up Rogaine were the hardest. My workmates and friends kept making fun of me, thinking it was no big deal. One day as I was heading home, I randomly met some old friends on the street. Despite my looks, I was really happy to see them because we had lost contact a couple of years back. However, they needed a solid ten seconds to figure out who I was. They tried to hide their shock behind a big smile, but I knew better. We exchanged phone numbers, and then I walked away, more embarrassed than ever. What really made me hit rock bottom was that my girlfriend and I started drifting apart. I can t possibly describe how lonely and estranged I felt after the first discussion we had. She showed me in the cruelest way that I needed to do something about my balding condition. She didn t explicitly say that, but her actions spoke volumes. At the beginning she didn't make a fuss about it, seeming so confident that I'll manage to fix it. This came as a massive confidence boost. I figured that if she feels this way, she must be "the one". So, I started working on my proposal. I wanted to make it very special. However, it was all for nothing. I never saw it coming. She must've felt I'm up to something. I just got the ring and we were supposed to go out for dinner at a fancy restaurant. You know what I'm talking about. The evening before, she told me that we needed to talk. I knew what was going to happen. I heard the dreaded excuse of I m not sure I want this relationship anymore right now and that she thinks she needs some time alone. 4

Two months later, we met on a common friends anniversary. Surprisingly, she didn t come alone. Her partner wasn't much younger than me, but it was more than that he looked a lot like this: while I looked like this: It felt really awkward to meet her there with her new partner, only two months after having my heart broken by my wife-to-be. Still, to this day I can t think about the emotional rollercoaster I went through, neither do I want to recall it. It was after this shock that I also got diagnosed with cancer. Insult to injury. It was bad. I could've just given up. I was suicidal. I was depressed. Life sucked. 5

However, when I saw her moving forward and smiling in the arms of another man, I realized I had to do something for myself. Luckily, the cancer was operable and benign. I still had to go through surgery to get it out, but I actually had a shot at getting my life back. I still had to go through all the chemo, which made the hair issue even worse. But I got it out of the way in a few months, thank God. Beating a terminal disease is a great confidence boost. So I got jacked up to tackle the next challenge. I owed it to myself to find the remedy for my baldness and to fully regain my confidence and health. I promised that no matter how hard it will be or how long it will take, I will fix my receding hairline, restore my head of hair and go on with my life. From that moment on, I started searching again for anything that could help me get my life back. I was ready to try the craziest solutions if there was one person before me who tried them before and noticed even the smallest improvement. I even started asking my friends and acquaintances if they had any knowledge about any pill, cream, shampoo or miracle gel that could help me. I d felt embarrassed for too many months, and I didn t care any longer if my friends mocked my bald patch. All I wanted was to get rid of it. One day, as I was hastily looking through some blog posts, I read about Wat Po, a Thai healer that seemed to be my salvation. What caught my attention at first was his age people claimed he was 103 years old. I couldn t believe it! He looked as if he was in his 60 s! I then read about his knowledge and the unusual methods he used to relief diseases. Wat Po was nowhere near a celebrity since he mostly treated locals. But I wasn t drawn back by this after all, he could ve been my last chance. One week later, I was on the plane to Thailand. I couldn t know for sure whether what I read on that blog was pure fiction or if Wat Po actually existed, but I didn t want to miss the opportunity of getting my life back. 6

When I got there, the look on the locals faces when I asked about Wat Po gave away that what I read was real. What they did not give away, though, was where I could find him. I lived in a small dusty motel for a solid week until I finally reached someone who knew where I had to go me. The next day, I followed him to a place nearby, in a small community. If someone could ve helped me, it was him. And there I was, waiting to check on my own if the stories I read were real and if I had finally found a cure for my baldness. When I saw him approaching, I felt an energy I can t quite describe. He started talking right away about how simple it was to reverse my condition and how it was all a matter of healing from the inside out. I was astounded. I never thought of it like that before, and he was right all I used were pills or medicine that did me more harm than good. As he was talking about what was going on in my mind and how the fact that I perceived myself as an ugly old fella was only worsening the situation, he wrote down a few words on a piece of paper. He handed it over to me and said that it was the formula I needed to regrow my hair and regain my health. He recommended I use it for a full month just as it was written. And it worked! I was so grateful to have solved this problem! I couldn't keep it all for myself, so I decided to share it. That same formula is the reason I wrote this book. If only had I known it from the start, it would ve spared me thousands of dollars and lots of embarrassing moments. Needless to say that the risk of getting prostate cancer, which was once skyrocketing, diminished considerably and right now I m past any danger. And it was all that simple. The only thing I ask of you is the same that Wat Po requested from me: follow precisely the advice I will be giving you in this book, and in one months time, you won t even recognize yourself! Hair Loss As we age, growing hair becomes more and more difficult for the body, and eventually, comes to an end. Hence, you need to help your hair to grow. Hair loss is one of the most common problems, and also the most difficult to tackle. While healthy hair indicates general good health, its loss can be an indicator of a deeper internal health issue. It is caused by stress, lack of iron or anemia, a condition of the scalp, and a condition of vital internal organs like the kidneys, liver, thyroid, etc., emotional disturbances, menstrual problems, illness or lack of essential vitamins and other nutrients in the body, etc. It generally indicates a deficiency in vitamin B1, vitamin C, lysine, and iron. Vitamin C s antioxidant properties help to make skin and hair 8

healthy by aiding the metabolism, and converting fat and carbohydrates into energy. It helps with the development of healthy collagen that binds tissues together. It is also effective in preventing breakage and split ends. Vitamin C is present in high quantities in citrus fruits, strawberries, pineapple, tomatoes, green peppers, potatoes, and most dark green vegetables. A daily dose of 60 mg is generally recommended. Vitamin B1 or Thiamine aids in protein building, thus making the hair healthy, and giving it volume, shine, and a good texture. Other vitamins that help prevent hair loss are: the entire Vitamin B complex, and minerals like iron, zinc, and magnesium. Because the body prioritizes the nutrients intake according to the vital organs and systems, most of the times the hair, nails, and skin (which are considered of secondary importance) do not get enough of the vitamins, minerals, and proteins they need. Make sure your diet is varied enough to ensure as many nutrients as needed for healthy, good-looking hair. In the following pages, you will learn more about which foods are the best if you deal with alopecia. 9

Cycle of Hair Growth The Hair Growth Formula (Naturally Intense) At any stage of our life, only 10% of hair is in resting phase. Hairs fall off in 2-3 months, and it takes up to 2-6 other months for it to grow. About 90% of your hair grows on your scalp at the same time, at a rate of 1 cm per month. Normally, hair lasts for two to four years in men and four to six years in women. Hair Internal Structure Deep inside the hair follicle, the hair forms inside a hair bulb, and then goes up, growing outside the skin. Any method of hair improvements like shampooing, conditioning, cutting or even sun exposure does not affect the rate of growth of the hair. 10

There are 3 phases of hair growth: Anagen which takes an average of 1000 days or 3 years. Catagen lasts for 10 days. Tologen lasts nearly 3 months. The Anagen phase includes the beginning of hair growth, with the tologen as the ending phase, where hair starts to fall. The hair bulb starts to grow hair at the same time that another strand starts to fall out. Hair growth is affected by the seasonal changes, and it grows more quickly during the winter than in summer, as a result of the seasonal change. In the catagen phase, hair growth is stopped for a small time and no pigment is produced at this time. The anagen phase is usually fixed and is determined genetically. The anagen phase is also responsible for the length of the hair. A person has, on average, 100,000 hair follicles. Each follicle produces hair for about 20 times in your life. In a new born, the hair follicles grow hair all at the same time, but as years go by; the follicles produce them at different times. If a hair is plucked from the head, the follicle is not affected and it starts to produce new hair. 11

Hair does not grow in a definite straight manner but the follicle stands in the same constant angle. Depending on this angle, the hair is always set to lie. Three Factors That Cause Hair Loss Most of us have heard that wearing hats can slow the blood flow to our scalp, leading to hair loss. This cause has been proven to be just a myth. However, the main real causes of hair loss are stress, disease, and hormonal imbalance. 12

Stress can cause your hair to literally fall out. Usually, the hair loss occurs 3 months after you`ve gone through a stressful period. Then you will need another 3 months for your hair growth to begin again (once the stress factor has stopped). Your body s built-in healing function takes care of your emotional problems and ignores your hair putting it into a resting phase. This resting phase is known as Telogen Effluvium. Stress can also trigger genetic hair loss. If you re already losing hair, stress will cause you to lose hair even faster. Health is also a factor in hair loss. Damaged blood vessel linings can inhibit your hair growth. This is because these blood vessel linings normally produce endothelium-derived relaxing factor (E.D.R.F.) or nitric oxide (N.O.) that promotes smooth muscle relaxation. Studies also show that there is a strong relationship between people with heart disease, experiencing hair loss. Also, diabetics have a higher risk of experiencing hair loss. This happens because the body deems the affected areas as of more importance, and directs the nutrients towards those regions, to help them recover quicker and reestablish your health. 13

Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) Lastly, the androgen hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is known to be the most common reason for male pattern hair loss. DHT is produced by the enzyme 5-alpha reductase and testosterone. It has a very high affinity, being up to ten times more potent than testosterone. Balancing or rather normalizing the levels of DHT will help decrease the hair loss rate. Hair Loss in Men Hair loss and thinning hair have been some hard issues for men throughout time. Recently, medical science has discovered the main cause of hair loss. 14

The most prevalent form of baldness or cause for baldness in men is Androgenetic Alopecia or male pattern baldness. Besides the genetic aspects, factors like medication, diet, and lifestyle favor or prevent it. Hair loss in male pattern baldness is characterized by a receding hairline, which continues in a horseshoe pattern. Hair on the sides and back of the head are mostly unaffected. Androgenetic Alopecia is responsible for 95% of hair loss cases. The culprit is the DHT hormone mentioned above. In the following chapters we ll discuss a more detailed impact, as well as effective ways to decrease your DHT levels. To put it simply, the more DHT you have in your body, the more your hair follicles turn thinner until the hair is permanently gone. Androgenetic hair loss regularly starts as early as 14 years, which means 11% of the patients are under the age of 20. The occurrence of balding between 26 45 years is 40% and rises up to 57% at 60 years. The number of men who look for treatment is five times higher than that of women. Mental and social embarrassment, anxiety and discouragement are found in 46% of men suffering from alopecia. Men regularly turn to alternative treatments due to the absence of awareness, lack of guaranteed and predictable results with medications, and fear of sideeffects. 15

Actually, it all starts when you are just a kid. When a boy hits puberty his body starts making more androgenic hormones, mostly testosterone. This hormone is responsible for male traits and characteristics, such as hair and muscle growth. Having enough testosterone is crucial for growth. You can get an idea of how much your testicles and prostate are converting by monitoring beard and body hair growth. While these initial signs of manliness used to be highly praised, nowadays there are many boys who choose to minimize them. Growing a beard used to be one of the cornerstones of manhood. Nowadays, men are shaving their beards and bodies more than ever, as if trying to hide it. Although it may seem strange to some older generations, I don t think it s a problem. As long as you are comfortable and it boosts your confidence, it s worth it. As the saying goes, to each their own. However, extensive initial hair growth during puberty could be a sign of later balding. Testosterone levels stimulate hair growth, at least when you re turning into a man. However, testosterone gets converted to DHT. This happens a lot. The more testosterone in your body, the more DHT will be produced. Research shows that there is a direct link between how much DHT you ve got and hair loss. How DHT Affects the Growth of Hair DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) is a by-product of a chemical reaction of an enzyme 5 alpha-reductase and a hormone testosterone. 16

The entire hair growth cycle is under the influence of hormones and their metabolic products. Dihydrotestosterone is the most important metabolite. It plays a significant role in retarding the hair growth, thus affecting hair loss. The accumulation of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) within the hair follicle is considered to be the main cause of hair loss. DHT mediates the hair loss through its direct action on the androgenic receptors in the human scalp tissue. It interrupts the normal physiologic environment and function of the hair follicles. Faster hair growth in both men and women is possible if DHT action is blocked. The organic extracts of some of the herbal formulations act upon the androgenic receptors of the scalp. These extracts contain substances which 17

directly compete with the DHT. They act as a natural androgenic blocker by inhibiting the active binding of DHT to the hair follicle receptors. Body builders are great case study subjects. Most of them choose anabolic steroids in order to maximize their muscle gain. These steroids tremendously increase testosterone levels artificially. Although it will help your body assimilate more protein and increase muscle gain, it will have a negative effect in the long-term. First of all, since there will be a lot more testosterone available in your body, there will also be more DHT. If you ve started experiencing baldness, this will speed up the process. Secondly, having so much testosterone around will reduce your body s baseline production. Most testosterone is made by your gonads and like all organs and bodily functions, they have a control measure. They know how much testosterone you re supposed to have. If you start pumping your body with it, they get lazy and stop producing it themselves. In the long-term, you stop using steroids, but your testicles are already retired. In addition, your body is pumped with DHT from the excess testosterone you ve been converting. If you want to tackle baldness, you need a formula that takes into account all these processes. That s precisely what I have prepared for you. The Secret Formula This formula is rather a picture of everything you need to provide for your body if you want to maximize the chances of growing healthy hair again: 18

A high-potency multivitamin and multi-mineral daily. - Beta-carotene. Take 25,000 international units daily. - Vitamin-B complex. Take a supplement containing 100 milligrams of the major B vitamins. - Take an additional 50 milligrams of biotin daily. - Vitamin C. Take 1,000 milligrams twice a day. - Vitamin E. Take 400 international units daily, with 100 micrograms of selenium to aid its absorption. - Iron. Take 50 milligrams daily. - Zinc. Take 50 milligrams daily, with food and with 2 milligrams of copper. - Silica. Take 250 milligrams twice a day. - Free-form amino acid complex. Take 2 grams (2,000 milligrams) three times a day, before or after meals. In addition to correcting any vitamin deficiencies, women whose hair loss is due to physical trauma, crash diets, or heavy menstrual periods can benefit from an intake of a high-potency multivitamin and 50 milligrams of iron, together with 1,000 milligrams of vitamin C to boost iron absorption. Thinning hair can be a sign of poor nutrient absorption, which in turn can be due to an insufficient amount of stomach acid or bacterial overgrowth in the stomach.
