Regimental Headdress Beret & Hackle The Beret and Hackle are worn in all forms of dress (with the exception of drummers (see next page)). A minimum of 2 ready to wear berets must be held by each member of the Fusiliers; this will preserve the parade beret from everyday wear and in particular sun fading. The following details must be noted: Beret: Navy blue with leather band. Cap badge: Over the left eye with the base of the cap badge siting square on the top edge of the leather band. Hackle: Vertical and cased nightly to prevent droop. The Wearing of Roses on Regimental Headdress St Georges Day (23 April) Red and white roses are to be worn in the cap badge with the red rose on the right of the wearer. Minden Day (1 August) Red and primrose roses are to be worn in the cap badge with the red rose on the right of the wearer.
