F R E I S F E L D S S TA N D A R D S Style Ethics Intention This is a description of Freisfeld and Brahmfeld & Gutruf s cor- porate culture which is written for friends of our houses. It is updated permanently. Münster, Hamburg and Mönchenglad- bach, March 2012
Style Freisfeld s jewellery inherits a secret. It lies within our roots. We unite Rhenish and Westphalian blood, our head thinks in a clear, Hanseatic way, our heart beats in a Romanic rhythm. Westphalian Simplicity which kicks over the traces that s how we called this condition - and we add: Surprisingly Hanseatic. Because this is what we want to show to our staff, our jewellery craftsmen and last but not least to our customers: To be both. Cheeky and classy. Nobly reserved and courageously expressive. We don t want to produce shades inbetween. We want solidity which can dance. An inspiration for this tension is the neighbour of our fi rst jewellery house in Münster s Salzstraße: the Erbdrostenhof, designed by Joseph Conrad Schlaun. For 250 years art history dreams about its brilliant verve: Our goldsmiths just have to look out of the window to catch a glimpse at it. Freisfeld s jewellery creations follow a concept: An idea seeks a shape. That s how Freisfeld s collections Sugarloaf, Cushion, Petit Paris, Generations, Surprise and Flowers of Fantasy were devoloped the evolution of this jewellery lines lead to new forms and creations year for year in which Westphalian Simplicity, Rhenish Finery and Hanseatic Surprises are combined. Jewellery stands for decoration: Besides our technical refi nement, our jewels are created to serve the beauty of our customers embeded in our jewellery-culture and couture-culture. If we succeed, we sign our pieces with our signature.
Freisfeld s time and time-culture Our brands in Münster, Mönchengladbach and Hamburg Watches marked the beginning of our business: Westphalian farmer son and watchmaker Josef Freisfeld after a first start in Berlin in 1938 founded the company in his hometown Münster in 1946. The founder s passion for jewellery and the skills of his wife Ria Freisfeld formed the Jeweller at the Erbdrostenhof jewellery-culture and time-culture are inseparable at Freisfeld s. Since 1981 Madeleine and Dr. Andreas Freisfeld are responsible for the company. Their son Benjamin Freisfeld represents the third generation in the jewellery business since 2008. Freisfeld s watches have a soul: Only personalities from the big world brands of watches will be part of the range. The passion for handcraft and the aesthetics of horlogery move us certain that an excellence at watchmaking is stable in value and will be in future as well.
For our customer... Serving the customer fairly and always saving the own face: With this old royal business tradition of the Hanseatic League we strive for the best for our customer. It s all in our name Freisfeld: A free fi eld for free people. We don t embrace, we don t ensnare, we love the free and honest offer for our customer. We work for a lifelong connection with our customers and their families. Jewels and watches are a matter of trust. We aim at our customers confi dence with unconditional honesty and discretion. Our warranty promise shows our responsibility beyond the day and we seal this promise with our signatures Our customers shouldn t be aware of problems: We solve them quiet, fair, eager and result-oriented. And always making an effort to create long-lasting and equivalent values for the money of our customers.
We create The woman and man working at Freisfeld s stand in for the company and for each other. We face our customers with an honest inner attitude: what serves the customer, serves us. We are the company. Our personal style formes the style of the jeweller and both keep on developing. We remain an ambassador of our company in our private life. Inside the industry we strive for an excellent performance for our customer in our houses of jewellery culture: We offer our cultural knowledge, our expertise and our personality. And if we don t know something, we say it directly. Professional knowledge doesn t come out of the blue. One basic principle seperates Freisfeld s style from others: We create. This applies on different levels: We create our jewellery. We create our communication. Because most often our advertisement, our jewellery photography and our text creations are made by Freisfeld. Our employees are more than just sales assistants, they strive for relationships with our customers. Our staff creates the ambience and the decoration in our premises. And also in the background we keep an eye on our business processes because we don t want to be overrun by the unexpected. After all we also create a relationship to our brand suppliers whose philosophy we stand in for passionately as long as it matches ours.
4 for more... oldest jewellery- Germany`s house Our home ground nearby the Erbdrostenhof in Münster: As a neighbour of Schlaun s city palace, we have founded a home for the art of jewellery and watchmaking. Here we create our jewellery which follows its own personal style. Freisfeld Mitte our premise in the heart of Münster s city. A modern gallery for the exciting moments in our jewellery world: Freisfeld s flagship store in Münster is a subtle stage for our fantasies made of gemstones and gold. Westphalian simplicity which kicks over the traces from time to time. Since 2002 we also anchored in the Rhineland, home area of Madeleine Freisfeld. In Mönchengladbach - vital metropolis between Rhine and Maas - Rhinish jewellery-culture meets Freisfeld s flowers of fantasy. The traditional Goldsmith Simon, founded 1930 in Mönchengladbach, worked with Freisfeld in the Collegium Cadoro since 1980. We lead the house in this spirit under Freisfeld s name. Grand brands like Rolex or Cartier have found a home here. Brahmfeld & Gutruf is a unique treasure among the jewellers in the German cultural area. It was founded in 1743 in the spirit of an awakening bourgeoisie which could develop in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg without dependence on European monarchy. Brahmfeld & Gutruf was formed by this freedom, it was part of developing bourgeois aesthetics in German jewellery culture. Surrounded by Prussian hostility against jewellery, Brahmfeld & Gutruf used the freedom of the Hanseatic city as a source of creativity. As a jeweller for the honorable merchant the jewellery-house created a style which was also appealing to Europe s royal families: In 1750 the Tzar became a client already. Though Brahm- feld & Gutruf never wanted to be a purveyor to the court but always wanted to be the first address for the merchant prince. From the spirit of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg which we call Surprisingly Hanseatic the company earned its fame: The 20th century was marked by branches in Vienna, Baden-Baden, Berlin, Dresden and Sylt. Brahmfeld & Gutruf became a competitor to the grand European jewellery houses in Paris and London. After 25 years of cooperation in the Collegium Cadoro, Family Freisfeld is the owner of this old traditional business since 2010. Keeping our tradition and old talents in mind, we tend to enhance Brahmfeld & Gutruf at Neuer Wall in Hamburg always Hanseatic and always good for surprises.
Intentions Our intention is to establish a certain style as a jeweller. Freisfeld and Brahmfeld & Gutruf are meant to be sources for jewellery-ideas between Northern Germany and the Rhineland Surprisingly Hanseatic. On our field ( Feld - the area between Rhineland and North Sea) in different tents ( Zelt - our regional and national appearances) and in the world ( Welt - which we always have in sight from Hamburg gate to the world and in the new media). We count as one of the best among the independent jewellers in Germany. Regionally anchored in North and West, internationally orientated. We were a founding member of the German Collegium Cadoro in 1980 and we are a member of the European Jewellers Conference Maastricht Group, the first association of independent European jewellers. Our independence is important to us it is noticeable in our maxim from one source. Concept, product and communication are nearly always made by Freisfeld.
