Some of the world s oldest customs were first practised here in ancient times by Welsh druids, it was from Pembrokeshire that the famous Bluestones of the Preseli Mountains were mysteriously transported to Stonehenge. The Bluestones are said to mark the clean water springs and so are long associated with health and well being. The island of Great Britain was once a Celtic country and in the oldest traditions, our pagan ancestors regarded wells, springs, lakes and rivers as the abodes of gods and spirits. Our retreat takes its name from our very own Holy Well, situated in the village next to the ruined Newton North Church of St John the Baptist, which would have originally been an ancient pagan site. Our is a series of therapeutic rooms designed to take your celtic spa experience body on a wet to dry, warm to cold temperature journey. The physiological benefits of using alternate heat and cold thermal experiences will prepare your body for your treatment by relaxing and warming the muscles and cleansing opening the pores in your skin.
