The hat is set in place on the un-gelled first cast immediately following vibration. Gently depress the step-down part of the flange into the matrix just enough too barely cover it. Because they conceal the underside of the bowl, any color of matrix can be used for the backpour. When the first cast of matrix has gelled and cooled, the second cast (backpour) can be made. The permanent hats are available in a white or clear plastic, and with a choice of including an overflow, or no overflow. Part numbers beginning with PH are permanent hats. Reusable Funnels are a convenient add-on to your Permanent or Reusable Hat. They are available in choice of round, oval or square pour holes to match your Hat Now featuring Improved Line (IL) Style Permanent Hats New and improved Permanent Hats offer superior performance at lower cost. Many hat models offer an IL style permanent hat (see chart below). IL style permanent hats are a superior product compared to the older, original permanent hats. These new hats are more uniform material thickness and although they use slightly thinner material than the old original hats, they are more uniform thickness overall, with less distortion and thin wall regions found in the original hats. We have invested in a new, more efficient manufacturing process with higher throughput to help reduce costs, and allow us to offer these hats at a lower price than the old original hats. You benefit by receiving better quality hats, with improved edge treatments, more uniform dimensional accuracy, and less distortion at a lower price than traditional hats. NOTE: IL Style Permanent Hats are IL hats are available for the most popular bowl styles, and we are continually adding more IL hat line. If you would like IL style hats for another mold listed below, call us! In addition to Permanent Hats, Reusable Polyethylene Hats are also available which can be used repeatedly. However, Permanent Hats are convenient and cost-effective by reducing finishing labor costs.
