Samuel Clemens High School Prom Guidelines
PROM 2017 TICKETS A219 May 5, 2018 from 7-11pm at the San Antonio Shrine Tickets will be sold March 12 April 27 ONLINE ONLY TICKETS CAN BE PICKED UP IN A219 AFTER APPROVAL ONLINE Any student purchasing tickets or attending prom must be financially cleared of obligations before tickets can be purchased Tickets will be sold to juniors and seniors only and the purchaser must attend Samuel Clemens High School. Underclassmen can attend prom as a guest with a junior or senior only. Students MUST show school ID when purchasing tickets, for themselves and for Clemens student guests Guests from other schools must have a guest permission form on file before tickets will be released to the purchaser Only 700 tickets will be sold Students may only purchase 2 tickets Guests and attendees must be 20 years of age or younger
Prom 2018 Dress Code Formal attire is REQUIRED NO: blue jeans, overalls, tennis shoes, flip flops, t-shirts, ball caps/visors/beanies, sunglasses Earrings in the ear are the ONLY acceptable body piercings allowed Visible tattoos/body paintings and clothing must be of good taste and not offensive or inflammatory. This includes but is not limited to: inappropriate advertising, statements that are offensive or inflammatory, references to: alcoholic beverages, profanity, sex, tobacco, drugs, gangs, guns and other weapons, excessively violent or gory imagery, and the promotion of violence and death. GIRLS: No excessively low or plunging necklines. Necklines of female students must not be lower than five inches from the base of the neck. Exposed breasts and cleavage are unacceptable. Backless dresses are acceptable as long as they do not dip below the naval. Strapless and spaghetti straps are acceptable provided ALL appropriate undergarments are worn and covered. No visible/exposed bras or bra straps. All dresses must cover the midriff region and be modest in style. Dresses may not be made of mesh or nude fabric. Examples include tulle, netting, sheer, or illusion. Dresses may not be cut below the bust line at the sides. With arms down at the sides, if flesh touches flesh below the bust line, then it does not meet dress code. 2 piece dresses are acceptable provided the entire midriff region is completely covered when arms are raised above the head. Dress length must meet mid thigh, which would be to the length of your fingertips Side, front, and back slits may not be higher than mid thigh, which would be the length of your fingertips No cover-ups will be allowed to bring the dress up to code. The dress must meet dress code on it s own BOYS Must be in a tuxedo, suit, or dress slacks with a collared shirt If you have a question about whether your attire is acceptable or not, bring a picture or description of the garment to Ms. Henry, Clemens V.P., in the main office before you purchase it. If you do not comply with the dress code, you will not be allowed to attend prom, and you will not receive a refund

Guideline #5 Dresses may not be made of see through fabrics or nude looking fabrics. Examples: tulle, netting, sheer or illusion. INAPPROPRIATE APPROPRIATE

Guideline #8 No cover-ups will be allowed to bring the dress up to code. The dress must meet dress code on its own. If the dress is not in dress code on its own, this will not help! INAPPROPRIATE APPROPRIATE
Guideline #9 Formal dress is expected from all attending. No torn jeans, no shorts or t-shirts allowed. Dress shirts, slacks, nice jeans, and tuxedos are appropriate attire. Shirts must be worn at all times! INAPPROPRIATE APPROPRIATE
