Located within the purpose buit fashion studios, students wi earn a aspects of the industry from using industria equipment, designing their own coection, pattern making to earning about running your own sma business. Incuded in this year unit standards based quaification are Pattern Making units using a CADCAM system (Leve 4) and deveoping and fit patterns for garment of compex design. Graduates prior to this wi be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the Programme Coordinator. Engish anguage entry requirement: Students are required to have attained an acceptabe eve of Engish anguage fuency. This may be demonstrated in a variety of ways, incuding successfu study in Engish, approved scores on TOEFL or IELTS (5.0 Academic in a bands) tests, competion of accepted internationa equivaents, or competion of an EIT Hawke s Bay bridging programme. Faciities Napier campus Fashion Workrooms are fuy equipped with industria and semi-industria standard equipment incuding ock-stitch machines, overockers, cover-seamers, steam irons, ro hemmer, fusing press, etc. Computer Aided Pattern Making software (PAD) and Adobe Photoshop are taught in Computer Labs. Programme information Six courses incuding 8 NZQA unit standards totaing 37 credits and a mixture of EIT courses incuding Sma Business Management. Practicum, work experience Leve 4 students wi attend two fied trips in (Fabric Sourcing and Fashion Week) and aso do work experience at Fashion Week.
