Catclub - Partnership 2012
History Catclub was created in 2002 (and is celebrating its 10 th birthday this year) by Lady Jane as a party for her friends. The first parties were held in apartments, kitschy African bars, art galleries, etc and were very small, catering to a mainly gay audience. One thing leading to another, Catclub became the party of choice for 25-40 year-olds mainly working in the creative industries. Nowadays, Catclub welcomes more than 1000 people at each party, yet one can still find that cosy and underground feeling of the early beginnings.

Catclub atmosphere If you ever go to a Catclub, you will immediately find that it is very different than any other club. The atmosphere is unique: joyful & vibrant, yet peaceful & laidback, people are open-minded and treat each other with respect. The perfect combination of a good crowd, a nicely decorated and unusual venue, the discovery of up-and-coming talent in art & music and a healthy dose of fun. Celebrity artists, fashion designers, photographers and dancers meet here.
Catclub art & fashion We are also strongly linked to the art and fashion worlds since most of our audience work in the art and fashion industries. That s the reason why institutions such as Art Brussels, Brussels Biennial, La Cambre Mode, Wiels and various other galleries come to us to organise their events. After a decade of unforgettable parties and events, we can definitely state that we host and throw the best parties in Brussels - and maybe even Belgium - within the trendy alternative scene.
Audience - 1000-1200 people at each party - 18-45 years old - Either passionate about or working in the creative industries (graphic designers, fashion designers, photographers, architects, art students, ) - Not your typical clubbers. Our partygoers like to go out (once in a while) but don t want to end up in a commercial, soulless club - People who are looking for something different - Opinion leaders, taste makers, early adopters, cosmopolitan, trendy, fashion and lifestyle conscious - Good balance between gay(30%) & straight(70%), Flemish & French speaking
Musical Selection Managed by Lady Jane Catclub is known for being a pioneer who invites emerging and up-and-coming artists before they get booked in bigger mainstream clubs. We have an eye - and ear - for spotting raw talent and it s not unusual to see most of our guests breaking through a few months after a performance at Catclub. Our musical selection features: - Up-and-coming artists and renowned musicians - Independent and established labels - Live performances and dj-sets - A wide range from deep house to melodic minimal with a twist of disco - Always funky & smooth, sweet & sexy

Artistic Collaborations We work with a different visual artist for each party. The artists are selected by Devrim Bayar, curator at the Wiels Center for Contemporary Art. Disciplines: Contemporary Art, Photography, Fashion, Video art We always pick artists whose work has a connection with nightlife and who understand the clubbing scene. That way, even conceptual artist can sometimes come up with something funky. This mostly results in projections, vj-ing or installations.
