Sic Fi Artist bio s Isabelle Andriessen (1986, NL) lives and works in Amsterdam (NL). She investigates different ways to physically animate inanimate materials. Her works contemplate on different propositions within different areas of knowledge on what is between being human and non-human, living and non-living. Her sculptures are directed as if they were performers or alien organisms transforming along their own agency. She is currently a resident at Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam (NL) and has participated in the Arts & Science Honours Program of the KNAW Royal Dutch Academy of Science and Academy of Arts. Recent solo exhibitions were at Hotel Maria Kapel, Hoorn, 2017 (NL), Tschumipaviljoen, Groningen, 2018 (NL) and Galleri CC, Malmo, 2016 (SE). Andriessen was part of group exhibitions at Lafayette Anticipations, Paris, 2018 (FR), Juliette Jongma Gallery, Amsterdam, 2018 (NL), CAB Contemporary Art Center, Brussels, 2017 (BE), Skulptur Bredelar, Bredelar, 2016 (DE), Galleri Nicolai Wallner, Copenhagen, 2015 (DK). Later this year her work will be part of a group show in Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, 2018 (NL). Josse Pyl (1991, BE) lives and works in Amsterdam, NL. With a background as a typographer, Josse Pyl examines the construction and visualisation of language as a way to shape both our reality and the unreality. He graduated from The Royal Academy of Fine Arts, University College Ghent (BE) in 2014 and the Werkplaats Typografie, Arnhem (NL) in 2016. Currently he is a resident at the Rijksakademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam (NL). Recent exhibitions include Nam Shub at The Ljubljana Biennial for Graphic Arts in Ljubljana, SL (2017) and Signals from the Periphery at The Tallin Art Hall, Tallinn, EE (2017). Rustan Söderling (1984, SE) lives and works in Amsterdam (NL). He studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and is currently a resident at de Ateliers, Amsterdam (NL). He works primarily with video and animation. Dan Walwin (1986, UK) completed his studies in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, London in 2007, and was resident at the Rijkakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam from 2012-13 and Triangle France, Marseille in 2016.
