Wife. Mother. Beyoncé plays many roles in her life, and her personal style shines through in each. That style has propelled Beyoncé from pop singer to international megastar, the face and hair of L Oreal, cover model and inspiration to women around the world. She wears it well, and she knows how to work her look. She knows it works for her, Rita Hazan, a New York City colorist who worked with Beyoncé during the promotion for her 2013 self-titled album, says. She s a beautiful woman, so I think that because she wears it so naturally, everybody wants to look as beautiful as she does. It s not an easy look to achieve. Beyoncé hit the scene in the late 90s with Destiny s Child. This past decade saw her go solo, star in movies including Dreamgirls, launch clothing and fragrance lines, marry Jay-Z, and give birth to daughter Blue Ivy. Through each of these milestones, Beyoncé has worn an ever-changing and alwaystrendsetting series of hairstyles, from tousled lobs to sleek layers, in colors ranging from honey blonde to chocolate brown. When Beyoncé debuts a new style, women flock to the salon to get her look. As a stylist with a multicultural clientele, I always have clients request her looks, including her pixie, Ali Hoffberg, artistic leader for the Ratner Companies, parent company of salon brands including Hair Cuttery, says. She could put any Victoria s Secret model to shame with that long, lush look. Her styles have wide appeal because they re aspirational yet achievable. Beyoncé s hairstyles are constantly updated but are so classic that the average woman can wear them, says Gwen Fields, stylist and owner of the Halcyon Salon in Washington, DC. These are looks that are attainable and seem very intentional with her outfit of choice. Many women who come into Halcyon Salon want her bold, blonde color or some variation of it.
