LEGAL TERMS APPLICABLE GLOBALLY TO THIS CONTEST Submitting an entry constitutes your full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of The Wella Corporation ( Sponsor ) and judges, which shall be final and binding on all matters relating to the Contest. ELIGIBILITY The Contest is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico who, as of the last day of the month prior to the date of entry, are eighteen (18) years of age, or the legal age of majority or older in the state or territory in which they reside. Void where prohibited by law. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. PHOTO CONTENT RESTRICTIONS All photos submitted in connection with this Contest must comply with the following: Your photo must not contain material that violates or infringes another s rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement. Your photo must not disparage Sponsor or any other person or party affiliated with the Contest. Your photo must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene hateful, tortious, defamatory, slanderous, libelous or otherwise questionable. Sponsor retains sole discretion as to what constitutes inappropriate content. Your photo must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age. Your photo must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations in any state or territory where your photo is created. Any Entry not in compliance with the above will be disqualified in Sponsor s sole discretion. Each Entrant and, to the extent applicable, photographer and person/model depicted in photo, grant to Sponsor a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive right and license to copy, distribute, and display each submitted Entry, in any media and with the unlimited right to use, copy, modify, edit, and create derivative works therefrom, and agrees to execute documents confirming such right and license at Sponsor s reasonable request. All expenses paid trip to participate in Wella s International Hair Competition. Dates, location and specifics TBD. 3. Participate in New York Fashion Week - Guaranteed spot working at New York Fashion week in the season following the 2018 Trend Vision competition. Take part in assisting the lead hairstylist or other top artist team members for the designer. Travel and expenses will be covered. Designer and specific dates TBD. 4. 12 month winner program which MAY consist of educational classes, social and trade media activities, recognition at local events, and involvement in brand and education plans. Color Vision Gold Winner: 2. All expenses paid trip to participate in Wella s International Hair Competition. Dates, location and specifics TBD. 3. Participate in photoshoot with a reputable National Magazine. 4. 12 month winner program which MAY consist of educational classes, social and trade media activities, recognition at local events, and involvement in brand and education plans. Student Gold Winner: 2. Internship for a week in a Wella Studio to shadow a studio artist. 3. Professional kit, retail value $2,000 Silver: 2. $1,000 in Wella Professional training vouchers which must be used within one year of winning. Bronze: 2. $500 in Wella Professional training vouchers which must be used within one year of winning
GENERAL Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions, failures in servers, hardware or software transmission, errors, omissions, interruptions, communication failures or human error that may occur in the receipt or processing of entries, or for destruction of or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries and/or any entries submitted in a manner that is not expressly allowed under these rules. All incomplete or non-conforming entries and their entrants will be disqualified. Sponsor is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry information caused by human error which may occur in the receipt or processing of the entries; or for any errors, misprints or typographical mistakes in any advertising of the Contest or prize notification. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE CONTENT OR LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR WILL DISQUALIFY ANY SUCH ENTRANT AND RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND OTHER REMEDIES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS FEES) FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. GOVERNING LAW The Contest and the Official Rules shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Ohio in the U.S., without regard to conflicts of law provisions. Entrants submit to exclusive personal jurisdiction in Ohio and agree that any dispute shall be brought in the state and federal courts in Ohio. COLOR VISION RULES AND REGULATIONS About the Hairdresser/Team: 1. The Color Vision category is open to hairdressers/colorists ages 18 and above or the legal age of majority or older in the state or territory in which they reside. Models and the assistants must be 18 years of age or the legal age of majority or older in the state or territory in which they reside. 2. No employee of Wella Professionals, or their families, will be allowed to enter the competition. 3. The competition team consists of a hairdresser and a model, and can be supported by an assistant (to help with the hair cutting or makeup). However, only the hairdresser whose name is on the entry form can do the color and the hair styling. 4. The hairdresser must be a qualified hairdresser employed by a hairdressing salon; there is no such obligation for the model or the assistant. 5. Between the photo entry selection and the national/regional competition, the model can be changed. 6. The assistant may be changed at any stage during the competition. 7. The assistant and model do not have to be employed by the participating salon. About the Salon: 8. Salons are allowed to enter as many competitors as they like, and competitors are allowed to enter as many times as they like. Competitors cannot submit the same picture in both Color Vision and Creative Vision Categories. 9. The salon name that appears on the entry form will be the salon that the hairdresser must represent during the competition. Should a competitor leave his/her employment (i.e. move to a different salon) during any stage of the competition, he/she will lose the right to compete. In the case of withdrawal of a competitor, after photo entry, the salon loses the right to compete. About Products and Tools: 10. Only Wella Professionals products may be used on the day of competition. If competitors make it into the elimination round, they must document products and formulas used in the application form. 11. Use of fake hair is forbidden throughout the whole competition (no hairpieces, extensions, etc., are allowed). 12. Each hairdresser/team is responsible for providing his/her own personal equipment, such as scissors, brushes, combs, makeup, and clothing for completing the finished look. 13. Wella provides blowdryers, straightening irons and a selection of styling/finishing products. Other electrical equipment required by the hairdresser (e.g. curling and crimping irons) must comply with all health and safety regulations, must have a valid safety certificate and be approved by the TrendVision team on site. 14. Wella Professionals accepts no responsibility for loss of and/ or damage to electrical equipment. 15. It is the competitor s responsibility to perform a skin sensitivity evaluation 48 hours before the color application. The model must sign the hair service consent form provided on site. DIGITAL APPLICATION PROCESS 16. Hashtag Application: Applicants are requested to create a style inspired by the Wella Professional Trend Movements. Applicants must have a valid Instagram account to apply. The application for NATVA is free of charge The application consists of 2 hashtags. The first hashtag is the overall application hashtag while the second is a clarification for category.

Elimination Round Throughout the entry period a jury will pick nominees Criteria consists of: o 30% Consistency with Trend chosen and Suitability for promotional and advertising purposes o 30% Technical Finish and Displays Clear Link to Trend Movements o 30% Overall Appeal o 10% Number of Social Media Votes The chosen entrants are then requested to provide the following information via email: o Salon Name and Address o Full Name o Address o Phone Number o Date of Birth o Full Style or Color description including all step-by-steps, including all products and formulas used. All nominees are initially contacted through Instagram Direct Messenger with a standard text message including the email address they need to send their style/color details to. By uploading your Entry image to the Contest, you are agreeing that your photo will be available for viewing online and that your name will be present. Your Entry can be shared online. You also attest that you own any copyrights included in your Entry. The nominee images will be published on WellaEd Instagram and WellaEd Facebook pages. 18. Final Contestants At the end of the application phase, when all nominees are assessed, the jury will pick the semi-finalist contestants who will compete at North America TrendVision. Once the finalists have been chosen, WellaEd will publish an imagery in several places, i.e. Instagram, and Facebook. Coty, Inc. has the rights to post the images on owned social channels as well as on owned URLs. Deadline for online application is May 8th, 2018. Entries/photos that have been previously published cannot be considered (photo rights during the competition are reserved for Wella Professionals). All photographs taken and received become the property of Wella Professionals and may be used for publicity purposes. Photos will not be returned. Upon application, the candidate agrees to give his / her consent to publish his / her name on the Tumblr, wellaed.com, Wella Ed Tumblr, Facebook and Instagram. These photos can be used by Sponsor for promotional purposes. All applicants accept the opportunity to be nominated for the People s Choice award. GENERAL 19. This is a live competition stage where, in front of the judges, the hairdressers will be expected to present their models within 3 hours, including: Haircut: Present a salon-wearable haircut, this can be pre-cut before the competition day, allowing the competitor to focus on the color application. (Assistant optional to help with haircut) Color Work: Do the color work live. (Note: All color work must be done on the competition day, and there may be no preparation of the color prior to the competition). Competitors will be expected to make a complete and significant color change. Present the overall look/result. (Note: To allow for completion of the hair work within the required 3 hours, the fitting of clothes and application of makeup foundation may be done beforehand). 20. The hairdresser will be expected to present his/her color concept in up to 5 minutes, supported by a mood board, which should include: Reasons outlining how this look fits the individual vision of a beautiful salon-wearable look. Explanation of color techniques used and why. An outline of how the color works with the haircut (shape, length). Shades/mixtures with names and numbers. The Wella Professionals products used. A step-by-step description of the placement of color. ABOUT JUDGING The judges will be looking for the highest hair craftsmanship skills, creative interpretation of the individual s vision of what s beautiful, wearable and inspiring for salon-relevant hair taking inspiration from the Wella Professionals Trend Movements, as well as the candidate s own vision, while achieving a beautiful wearable and salon-relevant total look. 21. The requirements for a successful entry will include: Cut and color that complement each other. Inspiration that has been taken from many sources (e.g. the Wella Professionals Trend Collection, art, photography,
fashion) and is not restricted to copying the Wella Professionals Trend Movements. Color work that reflects the professional expertise and ability of the colorist. Models are not necessarily professional but make sure they improve to the authenticity of the look and be qualified to confidently carry the look on the runway. Makeup and clothes displaying the highest level of craftsmanship. Note: Hair Up / Updos are not allowed in this category. 22. The competitor will be judged for his/her total individual vision: 70%COLOR TECHNIQUE Technique, application, color selection, commercial usability explanation Visible consideration of how color complements the haircut (shape and length) Cut and color that complement each other while creating a beautiful, wearable, salon relevant look Finished color result 30% OVERALL VISION & LOOK Total look (style, finish, makeup, clothes/fitting) Relevant individual vision/interpretation/creative personalization Professional finish Individual vision/creative personalization 23. The judges decisions are final. No correspondence will be entered into. Entrants have no right to legal recourse. PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE RULES AND REGULATIONS WILL RENDER A COMPETITOR LIABLE FOR DISQUALIFICATION. CREATIVE VISION RULES AND REGULATIONS About the Hairdresser/Team: 1. (Note: To allow for completion of the hair work within the required 3 hours, the fitting of clothes and application of makeup foundation may be done beforehand). 20. The hairdresser will be expected to present his/her overall Look Concept in up to 5 minutes, supported by a mood board, which should include: Reasons outlining how this look fits the individual vision Reasons outlining why this look brings to life the individual vision Haircut description Styling explanation Description of the techniques used/color or perm result to enhance the haircut The Wella Professionals products used ABOUT JUDGING The judges will be looking for the highest hair craftsmanship skills, creative interpretation of the individual s vision of what s new, cool and inspiring, influenced by Wella Professionals Trend Movements to demonstrate a significant change to the model s hair while achieving a beautiful end result. 21. The requirements for a successful entry will include: Cut and color that complement each other and work in harmony Models are not necessarily professional but make sure they improve to the authenticity of the look and be qualified to confidently carry the look on the runway Makeup and clothes displaying the highest level of
craftsmanship. The competitor will be judged for his/her total individual vision Note: Hair Up / Updos are allowed in this category. 70% CREATIVE STYLING 20% finished look - including complementary color that works in harmony with the haircut and model s skin tone 10% on the selection and appropriate use of Wella Professionals products 20% on runway-inspired looks executed with a professional haircut and styling skills that is suitable to the model s face shape 20% on styling and finish in harmony with haircut showing professional mastery and excellent finishing skills 30% OVERALL VISION & LOOK 10% Total look: how the hair (color, styling and/or cut) works together with clothes & make up 20% Your creativity: influenced by Wella Professionals Trend Movements 22. The judges decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into. Entrants have no right to legal recourse. PLEASE NOTE ANY FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE RULES AND REGULATIONS WILL RENDER A COMPETITOR LIABLE FOR DISQUALIFICATION. STUDENT CATEGORY RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. The STUDENT category is open to students or recent graduates (up to 12 months). This category recognizes best-in-class overall look. 2. No employee of Wella Professionals, or their families, will be allowed to enter the competition. 3. The competition team consists of a hairdresser and a model, and can be supported by an assistant (optional to help with hair color). However, only the hairdresser whose name is on the entry form can do the hair cutting and styling work. 4. Between the photo entry selection and the national /regional competition, the model can be changed. The assistant may be changed at any stage during the competition. 5. The assistant and model do not have to be employed by the participating salon. About the School: 6. Schools are allowed to enter as many competitors as they like, and competitors are allowed to enter as many times as they like. 7. The school name that appears on the entry form will be the school that the hairdresser must represent during the competition. About Products and Tools: 8. Only Wella Professionals products may be used the day of the competition. The products used must be documented in the application form. 9. The use of fake hair pieces is forbidden unless it is used as padding / filling material inside the hair and not visible on the surface. 10. Each hairdresser/team is responsible for providing his/her own personal equipment, such as scissors, brushes, combs, makeup, and clothing for completing the finished look. 11. WELLA provides blowdryers, straightening irons and a selection of styling/finishing products. Other electrical equipment required by the hairdresser (e.g. curling and crimping irons) must comply with all health and safety regulations, must have a valid safety certificate and be approved by the TrendVision team on site. 12. Electrical equipment used by the hairdresser must comply with the terms of the Health and Safety Act Requirements for Electrical Safety in the Workplace and must have a valid safety certificate. 13. Wella Professionals accepts no responsibility for loss of and/ or damage to electrical equipment. 14. The model must sign the hair service consent form provided on site.
