SHOW RULES, INFORMATION, and RESPONSIBILITIES: Artists should have a sturdy tent for their display. Please be careful in staking your tent - you will be responsible for any damage to underground pipes. Park rules prohibit anchoring your tent to light poles or any park structure. Please be mindful that we sometimes experience stiff beach breezes. Additional weights and anchoring may be necessary. Side walls for your tent are also recommended. If you use buckets of sand from our beach for anchoring your tent, you must return the sand to the beach. Do Not Dump It in the park! Please clean up any trash around your space before leaving. 10 x 10 spaces are laid out with "walk around room" (this means we usually try for at least a 12 x 12 space measurement). Limited spaces are available near the restrooms and parking lot. If you have any mobility issues, or feel you need such a space, please let us know on yourapplication. We will make every effort to accommodate you in your space requests. If you need to be next to another artist, please be sure both of you mention it on your application. When you arrive, be sure to register at the Hospitality Tent to confirm your space assignment, get badges, show information and other goodies. You will be notified of your space assignment in advance, but numbers may change, so please verify your space at check-in. Set-up will be 3-7 PM Friday and 7-9:30 AM Saturday. You will receive more details about drop-off, loading and parking prior to the show. Friday evening artists may drive into the park to quickly unload. On Saturday and Sunday mornings and evenings, the curb lane of Ocean View Avenue may be reserved for loading and unloading. Artists are not allowed to drive into the park on Saturday or Sunday, unless prior approval has been granted. Show hours are 10 AM to 5 PM Saturday and Sunday. Judging begins at 10 AM Saturday; please be ready. Awards will be announced Saturday afternoon. Security will be provided both Friday and Saturday nights, but we suggest you do not load in your artwork until Saturday morning. Neither CBAA nor any city agency will be responsible for accidents, injuries or damage to participating artists, their tent, their art work or theft during the show. Each entry should have a title, price, and medium displayed. Artists are responsible for their own work and for collecting Virginia sales tax. The show committee reserves the right to refuse any work which is, in their opinion, objectionable. All artwork must be conceived and executed solely by the exhibiting artist. No molded work, kits or imported work will be allowed. No Buy/Sell! The jury process will take place August 2018. Artists will be notified at that time if they have been accepted, declined or placed on a waiting list. Additional artists will be juried September and notified at that time. Requests for refunds (cancellations) must be made prior to August 16th, 2018. A variety of music groups will be performing during the day. 56th ANNUAL OCEAN VIEW ART SHOW Sponsored by CHESAPEAKE BAY ART ASSOCIATION October, Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th, 2018 Food vendors will also be at the OV Art Show with a variety of foods for yourenjoyment. Although we do allow late registration, please keep in mind that tent space is limited and may be filled quickly. We suggest applying early.
