7To Ways Rest Since Mother s Day is this month, I wanted to put together a shortlist of ways for you to rest and recuperate during the busy week (whether you re a mama or not, this list is for you!). These 7 tips for resting and easing the mind work wonders for me and my family, so I wanted to share with you! So kick your feet up, turn off your phone, and rest up, cuties! You deserve it! 1 Skip the workout! You have my permission. If you re not feeling it that day, take the time you would ve used to work out and do something for YOU. Maybe it s stretching, taking a leisurely walk, or just taking a nap! Do what s best for YOU! 2 Treat yo self. Do a face mask, hair mask, or some kind of body treatment at least once a week. Taking the time to care for yourself is so important in this busy life! 3 Get outside! Stevie and I will often take a walk in our neighborhood just to clear our heads, especially if it s been a stressful day. You ll be surprised what just 15-20 minutes will do for your peace of mind! 14
4 Put down the phone - I repeat, PUT DOWN THE PHONE! You heard me! My new Sunday ritual is social media fasting. It forces me to relax and be present- both Stevie and I are loving it! 5 If you re feeling overwhelmed, make a shortlist of what you HAVE to get done, and leave out the things that can wait for later. Prioritizing puts everything in perspective, wipes away the clutter in your mind, and will put you at ease. 6 Phone a friend. Or your mom. Or your cousin. Call somebody you love just to chat and laugh! My siblings and I do this every week - what s more important than sharing a laugh with someone you love? 7 Turn off the alarm clock. At least once a week - this is crucial! Let yourself sleep until your body wakes up. It s so repairing to the mind, body and soul to wake up to peace and calm, and it will set the tone for the rest of your day. 15
