What is Konjac? The Japanese already use Konjac 1500 years. Combining these natural ingredients with its gentle texture, Konjac is not only establishing itself as a healthy food, but also make it excellent for use in skin care. Its main component is Glucomannan, and its solution is a calorie-free dietary fiber that is very elastic. Konjac is rich in vitamin (A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C, D, & E), protein, lipids, fatty acids and natural minerals such as copper, zinc, iron and magnesium Due to Konjac fiber's excellent water-holding properties, the surface is always covered with water. How the Konjac Sponge is made? Using the handmade approach, we ensure the highest quality result for our final products The modern day Konjac Sponge is made by adding water to Konjac root powder which thickening it into a paste. The paste is then mixed with calcium hydroxide to make it alkaline, then heating it to solidify it. The mixture is kept frozen for a night and dried slowly to evaporate the water and alkaline as the final process. Initially Konjac fiber was used for babies due to its gentle texture and its excellent cleansing ability. Recentely it has gained popularity and developed to be a facial and body cleansing sponge for all ages and all types of skin 2
How does Konjac Sponge work? Konjac Sponge has a unique propriety layer that can hold water very well. The wet Konjac layer is also slightly alkaline, so it works well to neutralize slightly acidic grime. This layer helps to break down blackheads, dirt, oil and downy hair and Add a little bit of body text rinses them away, leaving your skin fresh and clean, even without the use of soap. When the sponge is saturated with water, its surface is covered by a water layer. This water layer on the sponge's surface constantly acts as a buffer to the skin and the layer forms a barrier between the sponge and the skin. As a result, the skin is never in direct contact with the fiber and it will not scratch and damage the skin even with hard scrubbing. How to Use Rinse and soak the dry Konjac Sponge with warm water until fully softened and expanded. A wet sponge expands approximately one and half size compared to the dry one. For first time use, the sponge might take up to 15 minutes of soaking until it becomes soft. Soaking it with hot or warm water rather than cold water will help making the texture of the sponge softer. Cleanse your face with water-soaked sponge daily or every other day. Alternatively, combine it with your favorite cleanser to make the sponge even softer and to create a rich lather for an incredibly therapeutic experience. 4
Gently massage your face with the sponge starting from center of face and extend outwards in an upward direction. This produces a lifting effect to shape face for a slimmer silhouette and avoid sagging skin. Alternatively, gently massage the face with the sponge in circular motion. Please avoid harsh rubbing on acne area and around eye area. Rinse the sponge with clean water. Using clean hands, press the sponge gently in between palms to drain water out. DO NOT twist, stretch or press the sponge too hard as it may damage the sponge. If you have long nails, please do not squeeze/poke the sponge too hard as it may tear the sponge and cause it to fall apart. 5
Hang the sponge in a wellventilated area to dry it. Do not expose the sponge to direct sunlight and do not leave the sponge in humid place i.e. poorly ventilated bathroom or faucet area. Alternatively, keep the sponge in a container and store it in a refrigerator. Replace sponge every 4-6 weeks for the best cleansing experience. 6
How to care Konjac Sponge Just like any bath products a personal care is needed to avoid bacteria buildup and prevent molds formation.the Konjac Sponge does not contain any bactericide and fungicide; however, molds can be prevented by keeping the sponge dry after each use or store it inside a sealed container in a refrigerator (this also works for many bath products). If you don t want to replace your sponge as frequently, try one of these ideas to care the sponge: Keep it cold inside a refrigerator Keep it dry (standard care): For first time (alternative care): If use, soak the dry Konjac sponge with you do not have a WARM water approximately 15 minutes dry place to hang until it fully expanded.
