Interchange construction including grading, bituminous surfacing, lighting, temporary signal systems, noise walls, ADA improvements, and construction of Bridge Nos. 05009 & 05012. Mathiowetz Schedule: Mathiowetz handed out two-week look-ahead schedule. Electrical Karen s Electric is done with the electrical work for the traffic switch. The power and electrical for temporary lights and signals are included in the bid. MnDOT pays the invoice plus 10 percent for permanent lights. Karen s Electric is responsible for materials, power and maintenance on the temporary signals. Erosion control Larson s on site today doing Type 5 Hydromulch temp seeding along the bypass and putting a blanket around the pipe, 200 feet each way in the ditches that have the chance to erode. Traffic Control Geyer is on site every day. The traffic switch will occur on Friday or Saturday. Discussion surrounding paint versus tape. Depends if the road surface is dry enough to use tape. Dan Gilder is open to painting the edge line to speed up the process and would rather not paint the center line from Ferches on the westbound due to this area not being replaced. Dan is open to the idea of using a water blasting truck at $1 per foot to remove paint, if necessary. Edge lines have been removed, will just need to do the skips. From the bottom of the ramp to CR 31, will do tape for about a 1,000 feet and paint the rest. Page 1 of 5 SP 0502-96 Weekly Project Meeting
Should be done paving this morning and be able to open up Holiday entrance again and do the striping there. Weather permitting, they will do the arrows now, if not will need to do them later. The stop bars must be put in right away. Once they start, they will continue on until they are done with the painting and taping. Once traffic is switched, will go into stage 2A on Monday morning. Will turn signals on Saturday if everything is switched. State Patrol will be on site Sunday from 3-5 pm for when the main congestion is expected. Monday morning will close off CR 2 and CR 31 and put traffic on the mini detour. That gives them time on Saturday to get the signals down. Beginning Friday, May 2, the segment of County Road 2 intersecting westbound Highway 10 will close. A signed detour will direct motorists to a temporary signal system just west of County Road 2 at County Road 31 New exit ramp will be open at all times. Need to check out the poles and see if J Barrier is needed north of CR 31. Schedule Pipe crew will be in tomorrow to start working by the pond to get the aprons and manholes set. On Saturday, Mathiowetz will assist with traffic and help Karen s Electric getting poles and signal system down. Stage 2A Bituminous removals and grading on CR 2 and CR 21 on Monday. Class 6 aggregates done by Thursday or Friday. Curb and gutter in. Can be done under traffic, if necessary. Will get pipe work done Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday on the frontage road, then will begin bridge grading on mainline. Bituminous will be removed on mainline and will start digging footings in. Lunda is coming in with rebar for the footings for the bridges. Will get bituminous removed along eastbound where the J barriers are now and will start driving piling after that. Sign Removal H & R will be on site Monday morning to get all of the signs from CR 2 to McDonald s and on EB and WB. Dan will talk with H & R on Monday about some other signs. Salvage Poles Karen s Electric will haul all of the salvage poles to the St. Cloud yard and will let Dan know when that is scheduled for. When traffic is switched, she can unhook the cabinet and it can also be hauled to St. Cloud MnPower is checking into who owns pole by the cabinet in the middle of the bridge fill and will get back to Mathiowetz. Benton County MnDOT is waiting to hear from Benton County about the county maintenance people putting in the extension pipe at CR 12. Page 2 of 5
Manholes under the bridge. Will be milling that blacktop out from the intersection underneath the bridges all the way back to where the curb and gutter is. The staging in 2A says all the piping, curb and gutter and sidewalks and turf shall be established, but it all gets taken out again. It really needs to be done in stage 4. will take a look at it to see if a Change Order is necessary.
