GIT World s Jewelry Design Awards 2014 has been greatly and successfully organized with deserved dignity, under the title Battle of Colors; The Design Your Eyes Can t Ignore The 8 th GIT World s Jewelry Design Awards 2014 attracted a total of 303 designs from international designers. Among them, there were 88 men s jewelry designs and 218 women s jewelry designs. There were international designers from 13 countries who participated in this contest such as Thailand, United State of America, Italy, England, United Arab Emirates, Iran, India, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam. The design prequalification round was held on last Friday 25 th July, and the expert committee has selected a total of 30 designs from both categories. The qualified designs were exhibited alongside the works designed by students from the institute s design course. In this regards, the committee finally selected 6 from 30 prequalified designs to be used in actual production of jewelries and brought into the final round of the Jewelry Design Awards. Besides, GIT has offered an extra award i.e. the Popular Design Award 2014 which is based on votes from interested persons among the 30 prequalified designs. On this occasion, there were a total of 5,326 votes from the participants. The exhibition of jewelry designs was organized for 2 days. On Tuesday 25 th November 2014, there was a fashion show of jewelry designs by students of the institute s handmade jewelry design course and there was also a mini-concert of a singer; Khun Tukta the Voice Season 2. The final round of the competition was held on Wednesday 26 th November 2014 at 1st floor, Eden Zone, Central World Shopping Center. The event activities include an exhibition of designs prequalified for the final round competition and there are numbers of event participants including relevant persons from government sector, entrepreneurs, designers, and other interested persons.
Fashion show of jewelry design student of The Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (Public Organization) On 25 th November 2014 The institute also organized a fashion show of 6 seletced jewelry designs from the institute s students and all of the jewelries were presented by the famous actress such as Yardthip Rajpal, Yam-Matira Tantiprasut, Diana Flipo, Pooklook-Fonthip Watcharatrakul, Grace- Karnklao Duaysianklao and Bua-Wansiri Ongumpai. There was also an exhibition zone where 30 of selected designs by participants of the institute s training course and 30 of designs prequalified from the competition. The exhibition received the honor from Mrs. Pornswat Wathanakul, the director of GIT, as well as Insta.Printa-photo printer from instagram application throughout the event.
The 8 th Annual Jewelry Design competition On 26 th November 2014 The institute invited Mr. Siripol Yodmuangcharoen, Chairman of board executive directors of GIT and Mrs. Nuntawan Sakuntanaga, director general of Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, to preside the opening ceremony and present awards to the winners. GIT has honored by the distinguished judges to select 30 design pieces from two categories. The six highest score designs were manufactured into the actual jewelry products and presented in the fashion show by leading actors and actresses namely Mark-Prin Suparat, Louis Scott, Top-Jaron Sorat, Noey-Chotika Wongwilas, Wowwa-Nicharee Chokprajakchad and Patt- Napapa Tantrakul for the judging as among the best of jewelry designs. The winner of men s jewelry category. The winner of women s jewelry category. The finalists of the GIT World s Jewelry Design Awards 2014. Furthermore, there is an extra award, which receives a cash award of 1,000 USD, called the Popular Design Award 2014. This award is based on number of votes from participants for their favorite design via www.git.or.th, with the total number of 1,276 votes. The winner who received the highest votes is Ms. Chinnapa Patcharanukulkit, with the design work named Fire in the Dark. One of the participants in the Popular Design Award voting, Mr. Siripong Ongsuprapa, also received a special prize, which is a piece of diamond-embedded brooch, from Premier Gems Trading Co.,Ltd.
