Welcome to the Silver Genetics Production Sale XII. What a year 2015 was and what a year 2016 has been so far in the cattle industry. It is interesting to see how things have changed in just 12 months but as cattlemen, we know that change is normal. The cattle industry is something we all strive to improve and we at Silver Spur feel it is so important to support the beef and agriculture industry in general. With all the hot topics that are brought into the media, if we all stand together and support one another we can overcome those hurdles together. What we are offering this year is a wide variety of bull options. We are excited to offer more Red Angus bulls than ever. After trying to build our Red Angus herd for the last 10 years we feel these are the best we have ever sold. For the Salers, we are more than pleased with the sale offering, including all aspects you might be looking for, homozygous black, calving ease and much more. The composites are the same, our top picks from the herd. What you see is what you get. These bulls were not fed creep feed while on their mommas. They were not pushed to the brim with corn at weaning. They were fed on a high roughage balanced ration that consists of corn, distillers grain, corn silage and hay that we feel will hold them throughout the breeding season. Also, if you are not from Northwest Missouri, they run on high fescue pastures all summer. To some, that isn t the best type of feed, but it s what we are blessed with in our part of the country. Please note that only a select few of the bulls are tested for homozygous polled. If you have any questions on the other bulls please let us know. The female offering consists of young, spring pairs and a few fall bred cows. These females are something we would keep if we had more pasture throughout the summer. Over the years our cow numbers have grown and we have more than we ever have therefor we are offering these into your program. All females have been vaccinated the same way. All calves have been given a 7 way Blackleg-Haempohilus and pinkeye vaccination. Health certificates will be furnished for shipment where needed. All cattle are on a Vita Ferm mineral program. 4. Announcements. From the block will take precedence over information in the catalog. 5. Liability. All persons attending this sale do so at their own risk, legal or otherwise for their safety or the behavior of the animals.
