Contestants will be scored in the following categories: Creative Winter Fashion 0-200 points On-Stage Interview 0-100 points Talent 0-300 points Evening Gown 0-150 points Possible Point Total 750 points CREATIVE WINTER FASHION Creative Winter Fashion may be presented by the contestant in the form of either Themed high fashion, eclectic, professional or classic presentation. It must not be a costume, not formal wear (after five) or athletic (tennis dresses, swimsuits. etc.). It must be in accordance with the creative ability of the contestant. It may be form fitting, free flowing, trendy, or classic. The fashion should be realistic and reflect the difference between a costume and everyday sportswear with an emphasis on winter attire. Creative Winter fashions could include pants, skirts, hats, coats, purses, etc., but not limited to those items. Outfits and designs from winter season are acceptable only. The modeling of self expressive fashion can be more free form. More turns, faster movements, hand movements, and different steps are allowed. Appropriate jewelry is a complimentary touch. Ensure that make-up, grooming and hairstyle complement your efforts. While there may be many variations of Winter Fashion, an excellent guideline is explained as such: It should be clean and sharp enough that you might report for work in an upscale professional position and dressy; casual enough for lunch and light shopping downtown, yet contain enough character, charisma and flash it would receive a nod of approval from the fashion conscious at any of the hip nightclubs you might decide to pop-in to at a moment s notice. ON-STAGE INTERVIEW Scoring will be based on personality, poise, demeanor and perceived confidence. Judges will note your ability to communicate on a microphone in front of an audience, and the context of the answer in relation to the topic given. The purpose of the On-Stage Interview is to allow the Contestant to give a brief, specific response to the question asked. Remember to answer the query in a direct, focused manner and do not ramble on". Speak clearly and in a suitable tone which will be heard by all. The contestant must be able to speak in a very comfortable manner in front of the public in family or business life and in their progression in the art of female impersonation. TALENT Contestants will be judged on their quality of lip-sync, live vocal or other entertainment. Judges will be looking to see if the contestants know the words to their song and finish each word. Just knowing the words is not enough, the contestant should also look as if he/she is actually singing the song. Is it believable? If it is a live performance, is it a talent of good quality? If there is choreography, the dancers should know the steps and the steps should flow. If you use dancers or actors in your presentation, do not let them upstage or out dance you. If a member of your troupe does not know his/her part, points will be deducted from your score. Quality, not quantity of set design and construction will be judged. Contestants are responsible for their props. Always examine your presentation for entertainment value. Does it please, cause laughter, sadness or stir some other emotion? EVENING GOWN Evening Gown is a statement of the contestant's style and taste. The dress and accessories should be in perfect condition. No strings should be anywhere on the dress (this includes sleeves, neckline, hem, along the zipper, or at any seam). There shouldn't be any tears in any part of the fabric. The dress should be stain-free and wrinkle-free. The hem of the gown should be even unless the style of the gown is an uneven bottom. The gown should be lined or have a slip underneath. The judges should not be able to see through any part of the gown unless that is the style of gown. The gown length should be either to the top of the toe part of the shoe or approximately ½-1 inch above the floor. There should be no break in the hem of the gown (it should hang straight). The sleeve should be no shorter than the wrist and no longer than an inch below the wrist unless the design of the gown sleeve is longer. Jewelry should accessorize and not be overpowering. A beaded gown doesn't need anything more than earrings to complete a look. Shoes should match the outfit and complement it, should not be scuffed, worn at the toe or heels, and not seen to bend under the weight of the contestant. Modeling should be a slow easy pace, touching the three points that form a triangle. At each point, the contestant will make a slow turn, facing the back of the stage, pause, and turn to the front of the stage. If you feel it necessary to use your hands, one hand on the hip while turning is acceptable. Hair should be appropriate for evening wear and go with the style of the gown.
