Basic Makeup Help To do theater makeup, all you really need is some foundation, contour, blush, and highlight; which can be found at a dollar store or Target/Walmart. You can always buy nicer foundation and contour at Ulta and Sephora. Lights on stage can wash a person out so we use contour and highlight to help define our features. After applying the foundation, then contour and highlight. Apply some blush on your cheeks to make sure you don t look pale, and to add a bit more liveliness to your look. Then apply mascara, if the look calls for it, and end with some setting spray or baby powder to keep the makeup from sweating off. (I will bring a lot of baby powder to the show). Page 3
Women For your hair, you can look up any 50 s hairstyle. Here are some ideas Youtube is a great place for learning how to do the styles For makeup, use basic foundation, contour, and highlight which is mentioned on page 3. Wear brown eyeshadows, mascara, and false eyelashes if you want! (Optional). Apply blush and a red, pink, or nude lip. Here s a good Youtube video on how to do 50 s makeup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rup3sqvtyz8 Page 4
Men For your hair, try slicking your hair in different ways. Use gel or hairspray to set it. Makeup is optional, as the audience is not very far away. You are welcome to use foundation for a more even look to your skin, and eyeliner and mascara if you want your eyes to stand out. Please be clean shaven- no facial hair. Page 5
