Why Have a Uniform Policy Governing Council has set a uniform policy for students at Keith Area School. The benefits are: Promotes a sense of identity and belonging Removes the competition in wearing designer labels Cheaper option for parents Designs are safe, comfortable and suitable for participation in a range of school activities Visitors are easily identifiable To assist parents in accessing correct clothing options Polo Shirts, Track Pants, Polar Fleece Jumpers, Shorts, Skirts, Pinafores and Hats are available from the print room. If students are unable to wear correct uniform on a particular day parents are asked to put a note in the student diary. If students do not wear correct uniform and do not respond to a request to comply consequences will apply as follows:

No Hat terms 1 & 4 R to 12 students will need to sit under the designated verandah areas Inappropriate Footwear Students will be restricted to activities where they will be safe. For 7 to 12 students this may mean no access to practical subject areas Incorrect Uniform Reminder by R-6 / 7-12 Homegroup teacher Note to parents in the student diary requesting correct uniform with parent signature required Asked to change in to clothing provided by the school Warning miss out on recess/ lunchtime play Unacceptable Items Team / Club Shirts or Jumpers (eg Netball & Football Jumpers) SAPSASA / State Shirts or Jumpers Active 8 Shirts BIL / ACE Shirts Show Team Shirts / Jumpers or Vests Jeans Pants with stripes (other than KAS Track Pants) Leggings or Pants worn under Skirts, Dresses or Shorts Jewellery & Make-up Modest and inconspicuous

Please note that for safety issues the following are also identified as uniform issues: When students are asked to remove jewellery for sport or safety reasons, they must comply with the request. Thongs, slip on shoes (eg canvas shoes / ballet flats) and similar footwear are not permitted. Sturdy shoes must be enclosed for entry into practical subject areas. Appropriate sports shoes and a change of clothes are required for Physical Education

R - 12 Students BOYS: Winter: Plain Navy Track Pants / Trousers / KAS Track Pants or Navy Shorts (NO Denim or Stripes) Navy Polo Shirt with school emblem KAS Navy Polar Fleece jumper with school emblem Brown, Black or Navy blue leather footwear. Sports shoes are acceptable, but if worn should be as plain as possible, predominantly white and in keeping with uniform colour code Short Navy or White socks. Visibly different socks are not permitted Scarves - provided they are in school colours (Plain Navy, White, Grey or Gold. NO spots, stripes or patterns) Summer: As for winter, plus Plain Navy shorts Brimmed Hats - Navy Broad brimmed hat (Akubras are acceptable)

R - 12 Students GIRLS: Winter: Regulation Grey and Navy check pleated Skirt / Pinafore Plain Navy Track Pants / Trousers or KAS Track Pants (NO Denim or Stripes) White / Navy polo shirt with school emblem KAS Navy Polar Fleece jumper with school emblem Brown, Black or Navy blue leather footwear. Sports shoes are acceptable, but if worn should be as plain as possible, predominantly white and in keeping with uniform colour code Short Navy or white socks.
