THE SPRING/SUMMER TREND 2014 4 WELLA PROFESSIONALS TRENDVISION AWARDS 2014 WELLA PROFESSIONALS TRENDVISION AWARDS 2014 5

THE MOVEMENT OF SPRING/SUMMER URBAN NATIVE A new breed of tech-savvy, nature-connected people have gone Urban Native. They ve de-cluttered, slowed down, and re-connected with life. Perfectly at home with technology, and equally at ease switching it off, they pick what they need from nature and city-life to live how they want: in a more satisfying, relaxed and turned-on now. Enjoy the art of being. And share. WELLA PROFESSIONALS TRENDVISION AWARDS 2014 7

THE LOOK OF SPRING/SUMMER 2014 HAVE IT YOUR UNDONE WAY The perfect, easy-going style is desirable because it never looks like it tries too hard. Inspired by the idea of worn-in comfort, it combines stone-washed colors with frothy textures for an effortless Urban Native style. Get inspired, challenge your mind, and show us your vision. Think outside the box and dare to get edgy. HAIR COLOR A relaxed look: touchable, soft and full of life. From creamy nude tones to faded brights, broadened into stonewashed corals and brunettes alive with depth. CUT AND STYLE The hair shapes have a feel of grown-out contours, full of lived-in movement. worn with a natural frothy feel, foamy textures are beautifully undone, as if by sun, wind and water. MAKEUP The look is very light and sensually soft, created using a faded bright palette. A clean, minimalist look is what you should be aiming for when it comes to complexions. Subtle definition around eyes is essential. Think lightly feathered brows with a natural arch, gently curled lashes and powdery lips. WARDROBE Inspired by the idea of worn-in comfort: like your favourite fashion outfit, prewashed to be beautifully soft with slip-on ease. Sensual and light, there s an effortless freedom about the looks. WELLA PROFESSIONALS TRENDVISION AWARDS 2014 9

THE FALL/WINTER TREND 2014 This is your chance to give the Wella Professionals Trends your personal touch: show your vision and craftsmanship to the industry and the world. MORE INSPIRATION AVAILABLE AT WELLA.COM WELLA PROFESSIONALS TRENDVISION AWARDS 2014 11

THE MOVEMENT OF FALL/WINTER 2014 BORDERLINE BEAUTY What will beauty be tomorrow? A changing world demands a new perspective: the undesired of today will be the beauty of tomorrow. Tastemaking experimentalists venture beyond the boundaries of age, color and shape, connecting the real and virtual, future and past, human anatomy and android artifice. They create an unexpected, new aesthetic. WELLA PROFESSIONALS TRENDVISION AWARDS 2014 13

THE LOOK OF FALL/WINTER 2014 WHICH SHAPE LANGUAGE DO YOU SPEAK? Shaping a new language in hair: pushing the boundaries of old beauty norms. Shapes in the hair are set in deliberate contrast against the shape of the head, the nape of the neck, and the very bone structure of each individual to find new lines of beauty. Get inspired and challenge your mind to show us your vision. HAIR COLOR Color redefines the anatomy of shape in minimalist fashion with a hidden complexity. This season, the opposite attracts. CUT AND STYLE Be experimental with shapes, using the same shapes in different layers. Create an untapped aesthetic. MAKEUP Shadow color: from vibrant colors to montones like color going into shadow, an ageless palette of almost barren beauty, based on gray as a catalyst for looking at color differently. WARDROBE Paradox texture: beautifully challenging textures that give a new definition of volume and shape. Refined minimalist form, structured to be smooth and loose. Inventive textures vary the shapes to bring them alive. WELLA PROFESSIONALS TRENDVISION AWARDS 2014 15

TRENDVISION TIP SHEET MODEL SELECTION TIPS: Your model choice can make or break your TrendVision entry. Pick a model who looks like a model study body type and how lines, angles and cuts of clothing reflect the trend. Study your model s features and natural likeness for a particular trend. Measure your model s bust, waist, hips and inseam prior to shopping for your TrendVision wardrobe. Study your model s body shape and height, and find clothes that complement those lines, angles and general shape. NOTES: WARDROBE TIPS: Create a storyboard of inspiration, incorporating fabrics, color and a variety of textures that best reflect your trend. Accessories can tell a story and should carry the design element through to complete a picture without overwhelming the overall image. Use your imagination to create accessories out of nontraditional materials (e.g. recycled fabrics to reflect a green theme). Remember the emphasis should be on haircolor; choose clothing colors that enhance your haircolor selection. NOTES: Highlight and contour your model s natural bone structure. Use individual and single lashes rather than full strips to create a more realistic look on eyes. Matte eyeshadow and lipstick will add definition to your finished look. Before applying lipstick, exfoliate the model s lips to diminish lines. NOTES: PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS: Use your photograph to tell a story, show a relationship, and provide inspiration. Once you have defined your concept, figure out how the final still image can best capture it. Consider the play of light, composition, background and balance. Remember, hair and haircolor should be your focal points and need to come across strongest in the photograph. If budget allows, find a photographer who specializes in live model shoots not food, furniture or animals. There s an art and specialty to photographing people. NOTES: MAKEUP TIPS: Pressed and finishing powders can sit on the surface of the skin, giving a dusty appearance in the final photo, so apply sparingly. Blend at every step of the application eyes, lips and cheeks to give the model s skin an airbrushed look. A good powder brush is an excellent blending tool.
