MUD Avant Garde Look Steps 1) Base the entire face using a mix of Light, Orange Light, and Yellow light from the High Light/ Shadow Palette over the entire face including eyes and lips. Blend into the hair line. a) Using a sponge or 940 Foundation brush to stipple foundation for heavier coverage b) Use 410 Flat brush to get into small areas around eyes c)using Shadow 3 and 410 Flat brush- Contour the eye brows and down the sides of the nose bridge. WORKSITE SAFETY RULES / REQUIREMENTS: - All competitions will take place on live models. Contestants are responsible for supplying their own model and the wellbeing of their model. - To ensure compliance with the rules and regulations - A scrutineer at the start of each competition will examine all models. NATIONAL COMPETITION ELIGIBILITY: A mark of 70% or higher must be scored by the gold medalist in the Aesthetics contest in order to attend the National Skills Competition. General Competition Rules All competitors will attend a mandatory orientation meeting prior to the start of the competition. (8:30 a.m. 9:00 a.m.) All students must wear a professional uniform with no school logo on it. Example 1. Esthetics white lab coat with black dress pants. Example 2. Scrub top and scrub pants Competitors must be punctual. Those arriving late may be admitted (after an individual orientation), but their allotted time will not be extended. Competitors who require clarification on instruction during the contest must address their questions to a Provincial Technical Chair or designate. (Roxanne Hamel, Lucie Laurin ) Competitors are not permitted to talk to persons who are not located within the contest area. During the competition, competitors are allowed to go to the restrooms, only after informing a PTC chair. Escorts to restroom will be at the discretion of the Provincial Technical Chair or designate. Interpreters will be allowed to access the contest site if previous arrangements have been made with the Provincial Technical Chair of designate. Competitors must follow workplace safety rules and regulations as outlined during orientation. (Nail Technology competitors, all competitors must have dust masks). Access to each contest site is reserved for the Provincial Technical chair or designates, judges, competitors, and individuals that have been granted permission from the Provincial Technical chair or designate. Competitors will use only one electrical outlet if competition allows for power use. The use of more than one outlet on an extension cord is NOT allowed. All competitors shall allow the skills Manitoba organization to take and publish photos of those individual competitors. There must be a minimum of four (4) registered competitors for each category. If there are less than four registered competitors, Skills Manitoba delegates will re evaluate the competition. No competitor shall begin work until the start time is announced. Competitors must be a Canadian citizen and reside in Manitoba. Contestant Information Contestants are to wear industry standard safety gear and appropriate clothing, in particular, no logos or hats are allowed. Any sponsors must have all signage or use of logos approved by the Skills Manitoba office prior to competition day. Skills Manitoba will make every effort to accommodate contests with special needs. Please contact the Skills Manitoba office for details. Each year Skills Manitoba will select a team of candidates from the provincial skills competition to attend the Canadian Skills Competition. The 2014 Canadian Skills Competition will be hosted by Toronto, Ontario. Every two years a team will be selected from the National event to represent Canada at the World Skills Competition. 2014 National Skills is a qualifying year for World Skills. Specific Skills Manitoba Rules Nail Technology/Aesthetics Competition 1. All competitions will take place on live models. Contestants are responsible for supplying their own model and the well being of their own model. All Nail models should be dressed in black. 2. Competitors will provide all necessary equipment, tools, implements, materials and cosmetics needed to perform the competition task. This includes large items, i.e. facial bed, chairs EVERYTHING needed to perform the required tasks (Unless product is sponsored see scopes on website). 3. To ensure compliance with the rules and regulations, all models will be examined by a scrutineer at the start of each competition category. (NO PREP. WORK ALLOWED). 4. No competitor shall continue to work on his or her model once the competition has ended. This does not include cleaning and presentation. Once the competition has ended, an additional 5 minutes will be designated for post service sanitation and presentation/display. During the nail competition, competitors are encouraged to add to the clients black ensemble in order to enhance their nail art theme. 5. Contestants will be notified of remaining time allotments. 6. The following are NOT allowed for the nail art competition: No decals (including striping), 3D nail art, foils, stencils, fabric puff paint, and stamps. 7. All nail art must be free hand. Choice of tools may be used. Nail pens (with or without polish) are not allowed. 8. No dowels when completing gels. 9. Any infraction of violation of the competition rules will result in point penalties or disqualification according to judges and /or chairs. 10. For make up bridal competition see website for design. Additional Information: 1. *For the nail art competition: We encourage competitors to display model, nails and table as a theme. Models should be dressed in black until they are ready to add display. For the nail extension competition competitors are asked to bring a black drape to cover the top of the table for the model to display his/her hands. (this could be simply a black towel )This makes it easier for the judges to see sculptured gel work. 2. Part 2: (10:30 a.m. 12:00 p.m.) The competitor will demonstrate a water manicure with massage and nail design on the ring finger and thumbs of both hands only.
