Mehndi competition consisted of various themes viz. Arabic, Marwari, Indian, Glitter, Pakistani, Moroccan, Indo-Arabic and Multi Coloured Mehndi. The students had an opportunity to display their innate creative talents through this competition. Their spontaneity and creativity was put to test when they were required to come up with attractive designs for Mehndi and Rakhi competition. The student showed their creativity by making various designs and patterns. Rakhi Making event had 15 contestants while Mehndi competition had 21. Aim or objective of the activity /event: Competitions was organized to offer a chance for participants to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, dissect and appraise outcomes and unearth personal aptitude. It also encourages students to adopt innovative techniques and develop their ideas and skills. Whether the objective was met, if so to what extent: This competition was an interesting and unique way to express creative talent of young students and gave each of them an opportunity to contribute in some way or the other to a creative pursuit. EVENT NO 1265 The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (Autonomous College) Report on Mehndi & Rakhi Making Competition Venue: - Alumni Theatre Dated: - 04/08/2017 Time: - 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. College ceaselessly endeavours to implement holistic training methodologies for an overall development of girl students. Along with physical and mental empowerment of girl students the cell also practices to persist feminism in them. 'Raksha Bandhan' or 'Rakhi' is a special occasion to celebrate the virtuous bond of love between a brother and a sister which is one of the deepest and noblest of all human emotions. In keeping with this the BSSS Women cell organized a traditional Mehndi & Rakhi Making Competition contest on 4 th August 2017 from 2 to 4 noon. The contest was aimed at providing a practical learning application to the students. The Mehndi talent hunt competition received an overwhelming response. 36 young girl students of various streams participated enthusiastically in the competitions. The zealous participants etched out awe-inspiring creative Mehndi designs. Mehndi applying contest consisted of various themes viz. Arabic, Marwari, Indian, Glitter, Pakistani, Moroccan, Indo-Arabic and Multi Coloured Mehndi. Girls made beautiful Rakhi using different articles like silken thread, ribbon, etc. Their artisanship was quite captivating and children thoroughly enjoyed this activity that ecstatic their creative side. The occasion was blessed with the gracious presence of Dr. Fr. John P.J., Principal, Dr. Sr. Lissy Jose, Vice Principal and other administrative and faculty members of the college. They congratulated and blessed all the students and said that such competitions help students add momentum and edge to their professional aspirations. The event was coordinated by In charge Ms. Naina Singh, with the active support of the members of the Women Cell. The number of participants and winners for the various competitions were:
