Transitions Makeup and Photo 13835 Saticoy Street Van Nuys, Ca. 91402 (818) 738-8711 Gina@TsTransitions.com Owner/Author: Gina Ortiz

Executive Summary: Transitions Makeup and Photo (formerly Transformations by Gina), has been in operation in Los Angeles for 16 years, since January 2000. Created and founded by Gina Jet Ortiz, it began as a small service specifically designed for crossdressers. Ms. Ortiz is a lifelong makeup artist and photographer, and was aware of the intense competition she would face in a city the size of Los Angeles. Offering makeup application, photography, and makeup instruction for this commercially ignored community, the business found its audience immediately. Customers were fiercely loyal, since there were no other services of its kind in the city. Word spread fast through word of mouth, as the internet had not yet taken hold as the primary vehicle for social communication. Through rigorous marketing and self-promotion, and with the help of social media (then in its infancy), her client base grew exponentially, and she quickly became known as the it girl of gender-fluid beauty services. Sixteen years later, as the internet and social media has exploded in modern culture, society has come to accept transgender community. It is now commonplace for all platforms of media to openly discuss this unique group, and it is now in the forefront of political debate as a major human rights issue. As prominent social figures have come out as transgender, the spotlight is focused on the issue every day on the news, talk shows, entertainment and education-based programming. More and more people are coming forward, and from a commercial standpoint, it has created a massive consumer market that is still widely underserved. Transitions Makeup and Photo is here to change that. The time has come to take the concept to a higher level, by opening multiple locations throughout Los Angeles, Southern California, and beyond. As social media (and YouTube) has proven its value as the ultimate tool for business marketing, Ms. Ortiz is now positioned to dominate that industry as an expert in the field. Her loyal following and giant fan-base will make possible such an expansion. No longer will crossdressing be taboo, and no longer will gender-fluid consumers be ignored. We will provide them with warmth and acceptance, as well as the services they want and need. The majority of our clients are affluent professionals; who work in the legal, financial, entertainment, tech, and sports fields. This expansion will be accomplished by way of licensing to other business owners and entrepreneurs, as well as individuals in the private sector. It can be licensed by anyone with a desire to learn, as full training will be provided. Current business owners, such as lingerie shops, clothing/shoe stores, beauty salons, or wig shops, can integrate our concept into their existing business, and can easily co-promote the two together. Individuals who desire an income with a flexible schedule can also license our concept as a side income, or a full-time career. The possibilities are endless. Since our expansion is funded by licensing fees, there is no risk to investors. While we want to see our licensees become successful, we are not at financial risk if they are not. In any event, we collect our fees, and will have the authority to revoke the license in case of misconduct or misrepresentation by the licensee. Funds Needed: We are seeking $15K for immediate overhead expenses, and for marketing costs to locate licensees. We will use those funds to advertise in demographically-related publications and websites. We will offer a fair percentage of profit share from the sale of licenses, and scale that percentage based on the amount invested. In the interest of simplicity, we will offer a 20% profit share for every $10K invested. Because it is in our best interest to keep the number of partners to a minimum, we will accept no more than two partners.

Monthly Operating Expenses: SHOP RENT 1,750 UTILITIES (GAS AND POWER) 400 INTERNET 200 MARKETING/ADVERTISING 1,000 TOTAL 3,350 Monthly Income: We will begin our expansion process slowly by planning to sell one license a month, for the first 2-3 months, and increasing that number over time. Ms. Ortiz will need to be available for training the new licensee for 7-10 days, during which time there will be no services available in the main location. However, once there is at least one new location in operation, Ms. Ortiz can then filter all clients to that location during her training times. After one or two locations are up and running, the main location will be sold or licensed to someone else, so that Ms. Ortiz can focus permanently on expansion plans. We are asking a licensing fee of $7K, plus another $3K for equipment and inventory. Profits for investors will be taken from the licensing fees only. Mission Statement: We have two goals: 1) To make our services available to everyone who is LGBT. We will provide acceptance, compassion (and judgement-free) quality products and services for this community. We will provide a safe and fun place for them to go when they want to be themselves. We will give them the gift of confidence and beauty, friendship, and guidance, as well as outstanding makeup, photography/video, and makeup instruction. 2) To continuously expand our business into as many cities as we can, and to aggressively market our brand on television and in print. By licensing our brand to business owners and individuals across the U.S., we are providing self-employment and financial security to the LGBT community, as well as becoming a household name. We will be the leading service in the U.S., and beyond. Use of Funds: The initial $15K requested will be used for immediate overhead expenses (shop rent, etc.) and marketing. Ms. Ortiz will purchase advertising in Los Angeles Magazine, as well as a host of gender-related websites around the U.S. Other forms of marketing will include a new series of how-to videos on YouTube and Vimeo. Ms. Ortiz will also launch a Kickstarter campaign to raise additional funds for a television commercial to air on the LOGO TV network during the Season 7 Premiere of RuPaul s Drag Race, and be produced by World of Wonder Productions (the production company that produces the show). Not only will a large crowdfunding campaign bring in funds to produce the commercial, it will also serve as a massive free-publicity machine. Kickstarter is known world-wide, and will bring awareness to our brand and its goals, and will attract more licensees! What is Included in the Licensing Fee? Our Licensees will enjoy an incredible amount of perks for their investment dollars. They will receive not only all equipment, supplies, and materials needed to launch their own location, but they will receive all training necessary to begin immediately. They will receive ongoing technical and artistic support, as well as business and marketing guidance. Here is a comprehensive list of all that is included in their purchase: *Full training in makeup, photography, and photo retouching *Full training in management of specific business and clients *Unlimited use of business name *Their own listing on the main website *Their own social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Yelp, YouTube, Google, etc.) *Assistance with finding and setting up a location *Assistance with finding and training staff (if needed) *Complete makeup kit with case, and professional makeup chair *All photography equipment (high end digital Nikon DSLR, 4 point studio lighting kit, stands, chromakey background, misc. backdrops, etc.) *New Toshiba laptop computer with latest version of Photoshop pre installed *Start up kit of clothing and shoes *Start up kit of wigs

*Start up kit of lingerie and undergarments *Start up kit of costume jewelry and accessories *Start up kit of hats, belts, and accessories *Their own set of business cards *Fully comprehensive "operations manual" *My full recommendation and endorsement *Continued and ongoing consulting and support for both business and creative aspects Long Term Goals: We have many other goals we will achieve immediately following our relaunch. We have already begun the process of researching the manufacture of our own makeup line, to be combined with other products to be sold to our client base. We will market this line of products aggressively online and with our licensees locations. We will make available cohesive makeup kits, and individual products, as well as wigs, nails, lashes, and hosiery. Within the first year of operation and expansion, we will launch our sister company Amanda Forms, which is our exclusive line of disposable and lightweight foam breast forms and hip pads. We will also continue sales of our already best-selling makeup instruction video Makeup 101: The Basics, as well as producing a new line of specific makeup instruction DVDs. We will create a regular blog called Trans-On-Trans that will feature a notable transgender person interviewing another notable transgender person. Lastly, we plan to expand our already popular erotic video service with more elaborate sets and interiors. *Manufacturing our own exclusive makeup line *Assembling and selling custom and standard makeup kits *Selling standard products, i.e. wigs, nails, hosiery, etc. *Manufacturing our exclusive brand of breast-forms and hip pads *Production of our makeup instruction DVD series *Production of short makeup instruction video clips for Vimeo (paid membership only) *Creation of Trans-On-Trans, which is an interview-style blog *Expansion of our Erotic Video Service In Conclusion: Ms. Ortiz has enjoyed a 16-year proven track record of success in this community. Her widespread popularity among the gender-fluid population will allow her to open new locations anywhere, as well as shine a positive light on the population. Without the daily distraction of being saddled down with makeup applications and photo shoots, she can focus her attention on bringing recognition to the brand. Sometimes all it takes is for one person to recognize and believe in the endless possibilities, and provide that one small spark that will light the flame of growth and success!
