The Studio Tour is in it's planning stage. See if this is something you can help with. It will be exciting to be part of the planning committee. Contact Patty Jones to see what jobs are available. We had great participation with the Artist of the Month. It was great to see what you've been working on. If there are at least 8 paintings, a 1st place of a $10.00 gift certificate to Hobby Lobby will be given out. Sincerely, Jan Gibson Jurying New Members Paintings Tuesday April 3, 2018 New members who want to change their status and start displaying their works in various Club exhibitions are required to have 3 examples of their art work judged by the jurying committee. The Art Club holds two jurying session a year, one in April and October. The jurying session is held on the same day as the board meeting. Members wishing to have their painting juryied must schedule with vice president Melanie Reed ( 720-903-5182). Your Paintings will be evaluated on quality of your work and each piece (framing, matting, hanging hardware). The framing should be in good condition without nicks, cracks, stains or blemishes. The categories for judging each painting are: a. Impact & Presentation b. Composition c. Color Usage d. April 9th Demo: Patty Jones watercolor Get ready to get a little messy! We will be playing with watercolor and two easy, fun techniques: using claybord for mono prints and saran wrap to make roses! Bring a paint shirt if you think you ll need one, but I ll have everything else. You will go home with a couple of little masterpieces, and some new ideas to use in your own paintings. "Perspective Tips and Tricks" April 14 1-4pm Does perspective drawing confuse you, or would you just like to perfect your drawing techniques as you understand perspective even better? This workshop will introduce you to some tips and tricks to help make perspective easier and give you the opportunity to practice on your own drawings. We will play with one-point and two-point perspective, and you will go home with a drawing that you can finish painting at home. They are doing special projects and Becky thinks there are some awesome projects you may want to get involved in. Jan and Melanie will be going to a planning meeting April 10 th. Stay tuned!

General Meeting Minutes March 12, 2018 President Jan Gibson: Call to order and welcome Six new members who had just been through Orientation prior to the meeting, were introduced. There were two visitors. Treasurer s report: Larry had sales forms to pass out, which must accompany each sale. Checks were handed out to those who had recently sold paintings from Art from the Heart Show. Art from the Heart Show This show is now concluding and will be taken down Thursday this week 9-11 am. North Metro Artist Studio Tour The Studio Tour will be June 15-17, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Becky Silver is chair and Prospectus was available at the meeting. Options are available to group artists together. Each artist will pay $50 to defray the brochure/map expenses and advertising.. Deadline to register is March 30 th. him if you want to meet the group at the Denver Art Museum and tour the Degas exhibit together on Saturday. Program: Kathleen Lanzoni, a talented painter, had a very informative presentation. She was quick and effective with her brush strokes as she painted a landscape at the meeting. April Meetings Next Board Meeting will be Tuesday April 3rd at the Aar River Gallery with the main focus on jurying in new members. 3 paintings for each new member who wants to be juried, need to arrive before 10 am. General meeting Monday 9 th, 7 pm at NGUMC Annex.
