Newsletter Editor: Adam Simmons Bremerton Central Lions May 2016 In Memoriam Volume 2, Issue 11 Zone C-4 Clubs: Bremerton Central North Mason Port Orchard Poulsbo Noon Poulsbo Evening Pride Silverdale Dandy Silverdale Sunrise What can we say except that he will be sorely missed. He was a warrior and inspiration to all of us in the manner he dealt with the dreaded 'C'. His leadership, mentoring skills and sarcastic humor will be missed. He is probably having a cold one and telling a story to St. Peter right now! ~Poulsbo Lions Club So sorry to hear this news. What a kind and generous man. He will be missed by so many people. ~Michele Wasson As my water polo coach when he and his sons Mike and Tim arrived at North Kitsap, I have nothing but fondness and appreciation for this kind and giving man and his family! Rest in Peace Coach Stark! ~Brady Hill He was a great person with the biggest heart. I am glad I had the opportunity to work with him and be friends. He will be missed. ~Chris Franklin Lions Proudly serving our communities since 1917 I remember with fondness his patience teaching me math. One of the few that spoke in a way I understood. Sad news. ~Jenny Thompson It's with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our beloved Poulsbo Noon Lions President Jim Stark, who passed away this afternoon. ~April 20, 2016

Poulsbo Noon Lions hosted the local kids (11 and under) to a fishing derby on Saturday, April 23 rd. This is an annual tradition and Poulsbo families look forward to it all year long. The kids had a great time, but the volunteers MIGHT have had even more! If you like to fish, consider joining us next year for an incredible day of fishing and fun! The local families will thank you for it! White Canes Days in Poulsbo ran for three days, May 6, 7, and 8. Lions (and Leos) in their orange aprons all around town raised a bunch of money for sight conservation. Great job Poulsbo Lions! Viking Fest is late this year. Poulsbo Noon Lions will be flipping pancakes and fixing eggs to order at the NK High School commons on Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22. This is how we earn the money for the scholarships we present to graduating seniors. Bring your friends and have pancakes for breakfast. After breakfast, wander around the waterfront in downtown Poulsbo to enjoy the fun. Cap off your afternoon with a yummy strawberry shortcake from our booth there. At least once a quarter Poulsbo Noon Lions clean litter from the intersection of Highways 3 and 305. Lots of fun and some interesting finds. During Viking Fest and on Memorial Day Poulsbo Noon Lions will place flags around town as they do for all holidays.

The North Mason Lions Club has four days at the Bremerton Raceway in May The Mason County Lions Club is doing their White Canes Days today and tomorrow (May 13 & 14) at QFC and Scott McClendon s. Go out and support them! On Saturday, May 21st the Bremerton Central Lions will be holding their annual Armed Forces Day Pancake Breakfast! If you would like to volunteer to help, or if you would like to buy tickets, email bremertoncentrallions@gmail.com! That same weekend (May 20-22), the Poulsbo Lions Club will be serving Strawberry Shortcakes at Viking Fest so come get your shortcake on! On Saturday, May 21, join your fellow Lions in the Armed Forces Day Parade at 10am in downtown Bremerton and later that same day in the Viking Fest Parade at 2pm in Poulsbo. Celebrate 100 years of Lions and show your Lion Pride! Zone Picnic: Saturday, June 4th at the Silverdale Waterfront Park! See you there! Join your fellow 19 C-4 Lions at the annual Zone Picnic!
