The Round Up This season s most important news summed up over a few pages US, UK and Ireland Tour 8 th June Florence + the Machine announce their UK and Ireland September Tour, and US October Tour. Full dates can be found on our website www.florencemachinefanclub.tk/calendar.html US Number One 11 th June How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful sells over 130,000 copies in the US and debuts at number one. It marks the first time that the band has had a US number one album. European Tour 15 th June Florence + the Machine announce December European tour dates. Glastonbury Festival 26 th June Florence and the Machine have always dreamed of headlining Glastonbury, and the 26 th of June was the day. Replacing the Foo Fighters, the band s set was deemed the best of the weekend by many. Tabatha Fireman 7 th June UK Number One Florence and the Machine score their 3 rd UK number one album with How Big How Blue How Beautiful. 9 h June Kiss With a Fist Turns Seven Kiss with a Fist turns 7 years old (since its 2008 release), and makes a return onto the band s live setlist in ode to its birthday. 12 th June NME Magazine Florence Welch covers NME Magazine (6 th June 2015), with photos by Zachery Michael. Zachery Michael 28 th June Back to Number One Following the band s triumphant Glastonbury performance, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful retakes the top spot in the UK charts, and reaches gold status just 1 month after its release. 19 th July Queen of Peace/Long & Lost The British Board of Film Classification submits Florence + the Machine s next video online. It is confirmed that it will be Queen of Peace, and Long and Lost a 10 minute feature film shot in Scotland s remote island Easdale. The video tells the tale of a forbidden love between two families at war, and a fight ensues. Rated at a 12, it features some moderate violence and nudity. Ship to Wreck Nominated for VMAs 21 st July Florence + the Machine's "Ship to Wreck" nominated for the MTV Video Music Awards. It's nomination for "Best Rock Video is against other artists Hozier, Arctic Monkeys, and more. Return to Brazil 10 th August Lollapalooza Festival (Brazil) announce that the band will be playing at the festival in São Paulo, 12 th -13 th March 2016. Apple Music Festival 18 th August Florence + the Machine confirmed for Apple Music Festival, at the Roundhouse (London), 28 th Danny North September 2015. 27 th July Queen of Peace/Long & Lost Release At exactly 3pm BST, Florence + the Machine released their video to Queen of Peace/Long & Lost. Read our analysis on page 23. 14 th August The Hunger Games A rumour is leaked that Florence + the Machine will be on the soundtrack of Hunger Games Mockingjay Part II. The song, titled Break Me, has yet to be confirmed. 26 th August Radio 1 Live Lounge Band confirmed for BBC Radio 1 s Live Lounge month. The last time they performed for the event was 2011, where they famously covered Drake s Take Care. The event will take place on the 28 th September. 27 th August 4 Music Video Planned Vincent Haycock (director of the How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful Odyssey) proposes to shoot 4 videos in LA in September.
