1 UNIFORM & SUPPLEMENTARY DRESS POLICY It is compulsory for all students to wear the college approved uniform each day and the uniform items worn must be in good condition to reflect a positive image to the wider community. The College also has the right to determine the appropriateness of jewellery, make-up and hairstyles. The College has a conservative view in relation to these items and will request students to remove jewellery and make-up or to change extreme hairstyles. It is expected that students will have sufficient uniform items to enable washing and unforeseen accidents to be accommodated without compromising the standards expected at the college. JEWELLERY GUIDELINES FOR SUPPLEMENTARY DRESS FACIAL PIERCINGS MAKE-UP HAIRSTYLES FOOTWEAR The College Principal Class will make determinations in the following areas, as required. Students are permitted to wear a small amount of acceptable jewellery A pair of earrings is permitted only if they are small, of a conservative nature and do not pose any health and safety issues. For example, plain sleepers or small studs Facial piercings are not recommended. Only one facial piercing, of a conservative nature will be allowed. However, lip piercings are unacceptable due to health and safety issues The wearing of make-up is not recommended and only minimal make-up should be visible Students will be required to remove excessive make-up. Extreme hairstyles and colours are not permitted Students are required to wear all black leather school shoes or all black leather sports shoes Students are not permitted to wear open-toed shoes or shoes that could pose a safety risk such as ballet slippers, canvas shoes including Volleys Black leather boots are permitted but only if worn under long pants Further clarification about uniform items and a price list, is provided on a separate sheet available at the College General Office. COLLEGE SPORTS UNIFORM Sports Polo, Track Pants or Sports Shorts The Sports Uniform: Must be worn for all interschool sporting events Can only be worn home from school if PE class is Period 6 Students MUST wear FULL school uniform when not doing P.E. THE FOLLOWING RULES ALSO APPLY IN RELATION TO SCHOOL UNIFORM WHITE SKIVVIES May be worn under a shirt and woollen jumper HEADBANDS, RIBBONS & HAIR TIES - Plain White or Plain Navy for Years 7 to 10 - Plain White or Plain Black for Years 11 and 12 HATS & CAPS Students are advised to wear a sun protective hat outside but these must be removed once entering the school buildings SOCKS Must be worn at all times and be visible to at least 10 cms above the ankle * Note: Only white socks to be worn with shorts, dress and skirt TIGHTS Only to be worn with chequered skirt (Never to be worn with the school dress) - Plain Navy for Years 7 to 10 - Plain Black for Years 11 and 12 SHOES Totally black leather school shoes or Totally black leather sports shoes - Shoe laces must be totally black (Ballet dress slippers and canvas shoes including Volleys are NOT permitted). SCARF Must be purchased at the uniform shop. Black - Years 11 and 12 Navy Blue - Years 7-10 Cargo Pants, track pants, stretch/tight fitting legging style fabric or denim pants/shorts are NOT permitted. Frayed hems are not permitted. Pants must be hemmed to appropriate length. Pants are not permitted to be worn under skirts or the school dress. No jackets except school blazers are permitted.
