Uniform; coming from the Latin unos (one) and forma (to mould or form). Symbolically, our uniform represents that we are united as one through faith in Jesus Christ, and being moulded, developed and formed through His work in our life here at Christian College.
Junior School Uniform Guidelines The College has a compulsory uniform. The appearance of our students reflects on our College s reputation. Students in Junior School are expected to always be in full and correct school uniform as set out in the following document. On excursion days, students that are not in full correct uniform will not be permitted to attend the excursion. All Uniform items must be purchased through the College Uniform Shop, with the exception of footwear. Please ensure all clothing is clearly marked. If your child is out of uniform, a note should be sent to the class teacher explaining the circumstances. Boys Hair Hair is to be well-groomed and cut in a moderate style. Hair should be no longer than the collar, should not cover the ears and should not extend below the top of the eyebrows. The head is not to be shaven or closely shaven in part or whole. (Where blades are used, no cut below a number 3 is acceptable). Boys hair is to be a natural colour. Boys hair is not to be tied back, pushed back behind the ears and gel or any equivalent is not to be used to disguise a hairstyle which would otherwise be unacceptable. Girls Hair Hair is to be well-groomed and cut in a moderate style; shoulder-length or longer hair should be tied back and not fall across the face.
s Uniform Shop stocks a variety of acceptable hair accessories including items such as: a 7mm tortoise shell Alice band, navy headbands and buttons, however hair may also be held back with navy blue, white or bottlegreen ribbons or scrunchies. Students are expected to wear a hat: For any outdoor activity Morning tea Lunch Before/after school Excursions unless inappropriate. The hairstyle should be such that it does not interfere with the wearing of the school hat. Hair should be a natural colour. Hats Hats All Junior School students must own a hat. The wearing of a College hat is considered essential practice while outdoor, to minimize exposure to the sun. Prep-Year 2 NCC Legionnaire Hat Years 3-6 NCC Wonder Hat. Please Note: The NCC Bucket Hat may only be worn with the Sports Uniform. For those students who do not have a hat, the following applies: Name is to be recorded in the playground folder Students are free to play out of the sun If a student who has been told to be out of the sun disobeys this directive, this action must be treated as disobedience. The student will then not be allowed to find an alternative play area but will be given time-out When the information from the folders is recorded, there will be follow-up from Administration to the parents of students who repeatedly come to school with no hat.
Jewellery Standards Maximum of one signet ring Maximum of one watch Maximum of one pair of earrings (girls only), plain thin silver or gold sleepers or studs (in earlobe only, not upper ear) Boys are not permitted to wear earrings Body piercing and body art is neither encouraged, or to be visible at any time in uniform or during school-related activities and events. Coloured nail polish is not be worn at school Make-up is not to be worn at school Acceptable non-uniform clothing guidelines These guidelines apply on occasions when school uniform is not worn such as camps, free dress days, rehearsals and special performances etc. Students are expected to wear neat and modest clothing appropriate for the occasion. Tops: Tops must cover the torso (no exposed mid-riffs) No low-cut, see-through or revealing tops No shoestring strap tops or singlets No shirts or T-shirts with inappropriate slogans Footwear: Students must wear closed shoes for reasons of Workplace Health and Safety Closed shoes / joggers are recommended on camps for safety reasons Day Uniform: (Year 1-6) must be black leather lace-up shoes Modesty: Underwear (e.g: boxer shorts, dark coloured bras under white tops) should not be visible Swimwear: All students are expected to wear a T-shirt or Sunsmart shirt over swimwear at swimming lessons Lost property Lost property is held on the upper floor of B Block. Please check here for any lost articles. Lost Property is checked each week. Unnamed articles will only be kept for one week. It is essential that all your children s clothing and other possessions are clearly named. We do our best to return items once found.

Optional Navy Fleece Navy Track Pants Spare set of clothes (Boys & Girls) Prep children require a spare set of clothes. Although aprons will be worn during messy activities, children may still get wet or dirty. A few spare sets of underwear left in the student s bag may also be advisable for any unexpected accidents.
