CALL FOR ENTRIES 90th CWA ANNIVERSARY YEAR Connecticut Women Artists 90th ANNUAL NATIONAL OPEN JURIED EXHIBITION at the Slater Memorial Museum 108 Crescent Street, Norwich, CT 06360 Saturday, June 15 - Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 Opening Reception & Award Ceremony: Saturday, June 22, 1-3 pm ELIGIBILITY PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY. Up to three images may be submitted. Original work in painting, mixed media, drawing, collage, printmaking, fiber art, photography, sculpture are eligible. Photo mechanical reproductions of original work (Giclee prints) are not eligible. All entries must be original artwork. By entering the CWA exhibit you agree that you are submitting images of your own original work, and not that of other artists, or material for which you do not hold the copyright. CWA reserves the right to refuse any artwork for suspected copyright infringement, and any accepted work that is found to be in violation of copyright will be immediately withdrawn from exhibition. Should such an entry be awarded a prize, entering the show is an agreement that the prize money must be immediately returned. Work submitted must not have been shown in previous CWA shows or in previous Slater juried shows, and completed in the past three years. Hand-delivered or shipped two-dimensional work must be no larger than 60 in any direction and weigh no more that 35 lbs. Sculpture (3D) must weigh less than 45 lbs. Artwork must be shipped installation-ready. CWA and the Slater Memorial Museum staff reserve the right to remove from consideration any object that does not meet these criteria. The Museum Director may override any selection made by the juror. There will be NO art hanging from the ceiling. ACCEPTED WORK All work must be thoroughly dry, ready to hang, wired, no clip frames, all other frames must be of sound construction, NO SAW TOOTH HANGERS, tacks or pins. Please note: Work will not be accepted if these requirements are not met. ENTRY FEES* Each artist may submit up to 3 works. CWA Members: (2019 dues must be paid in full): First entry is $25, second/third entry $10 each CWA Non-Members: First entry: $35, second/third entry: $15 each Please note: CWA has an elected membership process once a year (September). EXHIBITION DETAILS The Connecticut Women Artists organization was founded 90 years ago in 1929 when thirteen women artists exhibited at the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford. Since exhibition opportunities were rare for women at that time these women began a society of female artists. One of this country s oldest continuing art organizations for women, CWA now has over 170 elected members. CALENDAR Time-line of events 1. Deadline for entry: work must be submitted to the online service by Wednesday, May 1 before Midnight 2. Juror selections available online (www.onlinejuriedshows.com) May 15, 2019 3. All selected work must be accompanied by the artist s signed disclaimer when dropped off or shipped. 4. Delivery of shipped artwork: Selected work must arrive between June 4-7th. 5. Drop off of artwork: Saturday, June 8, 1-3 pm, and Sunday, June 9, 1-3 pm 6. Opening Reception and Award Ceremony: Saturday, June 22, 1-3 pm 7. Pickup of artwork: Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15, 1-3 pm SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS (for selected work only) and Disclaimer: If it is necessary for you to ship your work, please comply with the guidelines below: 1. Shipping address information will be emailed with notification of acceptance. 2. DO NOT SHIP WORK TO THE SLATER MEMORIAL MUSEUM. Please Note: any work shipped to the Slater Memorial Museum will be refused and returned to sender. Fees will not be refunded if your work misses the show due date or is shipped to the wrong place.

3. Artwork must be shipped installation ready. 4. Selected artwork must be shipped UPS only. No COD shipments will be accepted. 5. Artist will be responsible for ALL shipping expenses! A pre-paid shipping label for return of your work MUST be included for your work to be hung in show. 6. Artist is responsible for any shipping insurance related to their work while in transit to/from the shipping address. Shipping address to be announced. CWA and the receiving location are NOT responsible for delays or damages. 7. CWA and the SLATER MEMORIAL MUSEUM are not responsible for any work that is lost, stolen or damaged. 8. All work shipped must be shipped securely and safely, such as Airfloat StrongeBoxTM (highly recommended) or similar re-useable professional packing box. 9. Packing materials must be easy to unpack and re-use to re-pack and return work to the artist, at their expense, at the conclusion of the exhibition. ABSOLUTELY NO PACKING PEANUTS PLEASE. 10. ALL SHIPMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED BETWEEN JUNE 4-7th, 2019. Late deliveries or damaged work will not be accepted. The return address for shipped work must be included. Late or damaged work will be returned through UPS as COD. *Shipping location will be emailed with notification of acceptance. Continue on Rte. 2 East and turn left at the traffic light at Chelsea Parade. Traveling west on Route 2: drive through downtown Norwich, and turn right at the light at Chelsea Parade. *The Slater Memorial Museum is on the campus of the Norwich Free Academy.
