YIQING YIN, PRESIDENT OF THE 6 TH PV AWARDS For the 6th edition of its celebrated PV Awards, Première Vision is betting even more than ever on new, contemporary creation. Because this is the real purpose of this inspiring appointment, by now eagerly awaited by the industry s weavers and buyers: to single out and distinguish the most remarkable, inventive and innovative fashion textiles from among Première Vision exhibitors creations. In pursuit of this goal, the world s premier fabrics show will bring together, as it does each year in September, a prestigious jury comprised of influential personalities from the international fashion scene. Première Vision is proud to welcome young designer Yiqing Yin as Jury President. Born in China, a graduate of the Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs, Yiqing Yin has lived and worked in Paris, where she has shown her collections during the Haute Couture fashion week since 2011. She was awarded The ANDAM Prize for First Collections in 2011, and since January 2014 has been the Creative Director of the Leonard fashion house. Laurence Laborie A deserving representative of the new generation of designers working on the international fashion scene, Yiqing Yin thinks and designs clothing as an evolving structure, like a moving sculpture, influenced and driven by plays on volumes and materials, for an architectural and sensual result. Her modern and innovative fashion vision was destined to bring the young designer and Première Vision together. The show, as a supporter of young fashion designers and creative innovation, welcomes the chance to collaborate with a young designer who represents the fashion of today, both global and exacting. As a reminder, prior to Yiqing Yin, PV Awards Jury presidents have been: Veronique Nichanian (Hermès) in 2009, Ennio Capasa (Costume National) in 2010, Roland Mouret (Roland Mouret) in 2011, Felipe Oliveira Baptista (Lacoste) in 2012 and Alessandro Sartori (Berluti) in 2013. An exceptional and emotional moment to be shared by all the textile and fashion industry pros gathered at Première Vision.

THE JURY OF THE 6 TH PV AWARDS Yiqing Yin President of the Jury Artistic Director Maison Yiqing Yin, France Vladimiro Baldin Product Development & Style Coordination Director Diesel, Italy Francamaria Bartolucci Product Development Vivienne Westwood, United Kingdom Edward Crutchley Consultant, textile design and development Louis Vuitton Homme, France Clare Johnston Head of Textiles Program Royal College of Art, United Kingdom Kenta Matsushige Winner of the Première Vision Grand Jury Prize at the 2014 Hyères International Festival, Japan Jieun Rhee Journalist ELLE Korea, South Korea Pascaline Wilhelm Première Vision Fashion Director 4 PRIZES DISTINGUISHING TEXTILE EXCELLENCE Once again this year, the PV Awards will showcase the extraordinary powers of invention, imagination, renewal and creativity found in fashion textiles through four prizes: GRAND JURY PRIZE 2014 For the most outstanding, most symbolic and most pertinent fabric of the season. HANDLE PRIZE 2014 For the fabric that allies the most astonishing tactile and behavioral qualities, the fabric that touches the senses and the emotions. INNOVATION PRIZE 2014 For the fabric that is the most innovative, the most intelligent, the most technological and creative. IMAGINATION PRIZE 2014 For the most daring, the most original, the most surprising fabric in terms of fibre, technique, decoration or finishing.

After a first meeting in early September, the Jury s mission at the show is to select the Première Vision exhibitors most outstanding creations, from the fabrics chosen for the autumn winter 15-16 season at the forums. These fabrics will be indicated by a special label at The Forum at Première Vision, in Hall 6. Final deliberations will be held the morning of Thursday 18 September, at the show Winners will be announced the same day by designer Yiqing Yin at noon in The Forum MIGUEL CHEVALIER, FRACTAL FLOWERS, AN ORIGINAL STEREOLITHOGRAPHY FOR PREMIÈRE VISION In order to give the PV Awards their full creative dimension, Première Vision has called on French artist Miguel Chevalier. Since 2009 he has created the PV Award Trophies: a concrete expression of his «fractal flowers», made exclusively for Première Vision. Born in Mexico City in 1959, Miguel Chevalier lives and works in Paris. From technology to nature, biology to poetry, light to materials, he has, since 1978, used information technology as a means of expression in the visual arts. He is internationally known as one of the pioneers of virtual and digital arts. Most recently, his work could be seen on the imposing facade of the Grand Palais, in Paris, during the Art Paris Art Fair show in April 2014. www.miguel-chevalier.com Press Contact Première Vision Press Office 2e BUREAU Igor Robinet-Slansky Marie-Laure Girardon T. +33(0)1 70 38 70 30 t. +33(0)1 42 33 93 18 P. +33(0)6 42 06 31 02 m.girardon@2e-bureau.com i.robinet@premierevision.com

A CLOSE-UP LOOK AT THE JURY MEMBERS Yiqing Yin President of the Jury Born in 1985 in Beijing, China, Yiqing Yin studied at the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Immigrating to France at age 4, tossed between countries, her clothes have often provided her with a point of reference: «Returning to my clothes was like living once more within my body and my emotions; I was at home.» Her aim has been to create a garment that protects and reinforces, being at the same time a second skin and a supple armour. Her work reveals a new approach to couture, which led to her being awarded the Grand Prize of Creation by the City of Paris in 2010. In March 2011, Yiqing Yin was selected by French Vogue as one of 8 young designers to watch. In June 2011, Yiqing Yin was awarded the Andam Prize for First Collections, and presented her debut show on July 7th, 2011, during the Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris. Since November 2011 her Fashion House has been on the official calendar of shows established by the French Federation of Couture as an invited member, while her ready-to-wear collections are sold throughout the world. Yiqing Yin also collaborates with a number of prestigious brands including Cartier, Swarovski and Guerlain, along with working on her own collections. She was named Creative Director of Leonard in January 2014, a position she continues to hold today. Vladimiro Baldin Product Development & Style Coordination Director, Diesel, Italy Vladimiro («Vlady») Baldin was born in Padua, Italy, in 1974 and after having his first taste of clothing, fabrics and textures during a 3-year experience in an Italian casualwear company, he landed on Planet Diesel in 1998. Since then, Vladimiro Baldin s career at Diesel has touched Sourcing & Buying Management and the direction of the Product Development department which took him to the Creative Centre (Diesel s Style and Creative Office) which he coordinated between 2006 and 2010, working closely with the founder of the company, Renzo Rosso. In 2010 Vladimiro Baldin took over the management of the Creative and Research and Development Teams, combining his experiences to contribute and drive the consistency of one product message, from source to final result, with a strong Diesel DNA link. Francamaria Bartolucci Product Development Vivienne Westwood, United Kingdom Edward Crutchley Edward Crutchley has been the textile design and development consultant for Louis Vuitton Homme since 2007. Originally from the Yorkshire Dales in the north of England and trained at the illustrious Central St Martins he is a well-regarded and high-profile figure within the international fashion textiles industry. Having worked with suppliers around the world, ranging from artisan hand weavers in Kyoto, leading British worsted mills and high-tech Italian manufacturers, he has a wide ranging insight into the luxury textiles market both in Europe and across the globe.

Clare Johnston Professor Clare Johnston is Head of the Textile Program at the Royal College of Art in London. Clare s 40-year career has spanned the worlds of fashion, textile design and academia. From 1990 until 1998, Clare was responsible for fashion colour & textiles at Marks & Spencer. She became Head of Design at Liberty of London in 1998, prior to her appointment at the RCA in 2000. She continues to work as an international design consultant. Kenta Matsushige A graduate of the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne in 2012, young Japanese designer Kenta Matsushige currently lives and works in Paris. Winner of the Première Vision Grand Jury Prize at the 2014 Hyères International Festival, his designs feed on creative shifts, like the artists Walter de Laria or Lee Ufanqui, who set their works in nature, in particular on the island of Naoshima in Japan. «My collections aim to be urban and modern whilst respecting hinabi, pastoral beauty, which is in opposition to miyabi, urban beauty,» says the designer. A selection of the collection he presented at the Hyères Festival will be exhibited at Première Vision New York (22 and 23 July), and at Première Vision Paris (16-18 September). Jieun Rhee Franco-Korean, Jieun Rhee studied fashion in South Korea and innovative materials at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs. Since 2005 she has lived and worked in France as a journalist for ELLE Korea, in addition to working as a design, materials and colour consultant. Pascaline Wilhelm A graduate of the Ecole National Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, Pascaline Wilhelm began her career as a textile designer for a company integrating spinning, weaving and prints. She later started her own textile design and communications company, working with the entire sector, from fibres to yarns, weaving to finishings, including the development of exclusive patterns for fashion brands and designers. In 2000, she joined Première Vision, the organiser of international shows, where she is now Fashion Director.
