As Director of a successful Training Academy, I can identify that our professional lives are filled with challenges, highlights, hard work and ultimately rewards. Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Make-Up Artistry as careers have expanded at an immensely fast pace in Australia over the past few years, and continue to be recognised as a career and industry with a dynamic future. This is something SCA is passionate about and proud to be a part of. At SCA Hair & Beauty Academy we strive to meet the expectations of the Hairdressing, Beauty and Make-Up industry. The SCA Team At SCA Hair & Beauty Academy we deliver nationally accredited qualifications via training face-to-face and on some occasions in the workplace. When you study with SCA Hair & Beauty, your Trainer/Assessor will be always there to assist you throughout your course. Students attend a classroom training environment, with extensive theory and practical sessions. Our Trainers/Assessors are qualified, dedicated professionals who have current industry experience and current qualifications. Their industry experience is continually up to date by participating in professional development activities, therefore giving our students the best practical industry experience. The Beauty Team Virginia Kettley Having worked in the beauty industry for over 20 years, Virginia now has the opportunity to pass on her knowledge and experience to our students so they can succeed in this exciting and ever-changing industry. Virginia is a qualified beauty therapist, nail technician and qualified Trainer and Assessor. Virginia has been working as an SCA Educator for the past 11 years. In this tome, Virginia has had the pleasure of working as part as a growing team that is focused on providing a high level of professional education and training. Taryn Gunning Taryn has been working in the beauty industry for the past 13 years and is a Diploma qualified beauty therapist and qualified Trainer and Assessor. Working in the beauty industry has offered Taryn many different opportunities and career paths that has led her to work at SCA hair & Beauty Academy. Taryn has been teaching for the past 2 years at SCA and has had the chance to share her experience and knowledge with a fantastic team of like- minded professionals and students. PAGE 5

Valerie Wood Val has been a beauty therapist for the past 28 years. In that time, Val has worked in busy salons, owned her own successful salon and had years of teaching experience. Val loves being a part of the SCA team of professional, enthusiastic trainers and assessors who are all passionate about the ever-changing beauty industry. Val endeavors to provide students with the knowledge and experience to enter into a challenging yet extremely rewarding career. Val obtains immense satisfaction from working with the students, whose achievements at the end of the course make us all feel proud and privileged to have been a part of their journey. Val is a Diploma qualified beauty therapist and qualified beauty therapist and Trainer and Assessor. PAGE 6

The Hairdressing Team Craig Stone Craig has dreamt of working with the best in the industry and has achieved this at a relatively young age. Craig is a qualified Certificate III Hairdresser. Craig loves to educate and share his passion for all things hair. Craig is excited to be a part of SCA Hair & beauty Academy and teaching the new generations of hairdressers. Craig owns and operates his own successful salon based in the Wollongong CBD. Tania De Ornelas Tania has extensive experience and knowledge from working in different levels of the hair industry for over 10 years. She has worked with some of the biggest industry leaders and is always expanding her knowledge by staying current with the changing trends. Being local to Wollongong, Tania has recently returned from spending a year in Adelaide working with one of Australia s top award winning salons. She has completed her bridal hair stylist course with the world-renowned Sharon Blain, and has even worked in the media industry behind the scenes of X-Factor and The Voice SCA is exactly where Tania wants to be. SCA provides the opportunity for her to share her vast knowledge and experience with the next generation of hairdressers. She feels the best accomplishment in seeing the improvement of her students and their confidence growing. Tania is constantly looking forward to the next group of graduates. PAGE 7

The Make-Up Team Renee De Bono Known in the industry for her attention to detail, Renee is passionate about enhancing beauty and creating stunning works of art. Regularly collaborating with a wide range of talented photographers, International designers and high profile clients, Renee s makeup experience stretches from commercial advertising campaigns to bridal and theatrical makeup. Whether it is working backstage on a parade, on location for a fashion shoot or in a studio, her regular exposure to production gives Renee an understanding of the entire team work flow and able to adjust to the circumstances required in not only meeting, but exceeding creative briefs. Credits include makeup crew for feature film The Wolverine, 2 seasons of Pacha stage performances at the Ivy in Sydney and featured work on award winning, published high art photographs. Helping students develop themselves as artists and eventually gaining employment in the industry is Renee s goal and brings her immeasurable satisfaction as a trainer. Renee offers her passion and over 10 years of industry knowledge to share with our students on their exciting and rewarding chosen career path. Renee is a Diploma qualified make-up artist and qualified trainer and assessor. Sara McGlaughlin Sara is a highly experienced make-up artist who specialises in bridal and airbrush make-up. Sara is a qualified make-up artist and Trainer and Assessor. Sara fell in love with make-up at a young age and furthered her studies by completing a cosmetic consultant diploma. It did not take long for Sara to develop a passion for teaching. Sara looks forward to inspiring the students on their journey here at SCA Hair and Beauty Academy. PAGE 8
