ABOUT LITTLE INNOSCENTS Little Innoscents was founded in 2007, after Director Antonette Golikidis fell pregnant with her first child Alex. Antonette searched endlessly for baby products that were chemical free and found herself disappointed to find such a limited number of products, which were often difficult to find, too expensive, or offered misleading greenwash marketing techniques to persuade you to buy something that wasn t all what it said it to be. I was so tired of pretend organic companies misleading consumers with clever marketing strategies which enabled them to promote natural and organic claims without really having formulations that abide by this claim. - Antonette Golikidis, Founder & Director of Little Innoscents. Then Little Innoscents was born, naturally. Antonette began making the products in her kitchen at home and spent 10 months perfecting the ingredients. She formulated a nappy rash cream, massage lotion, massage oil, body powder, hair and body wash, vapour rub balm and organic soap. The range can also help relieve a wide range of childhood health and skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis. As Little Innoscents grew, Antonette began using a manufacturing company to create her products and had the product range certified by one of the world s leading organic certification bodies - Australia Certified Organic (ACO). Antonette is also proud to be on the Committee Board of the Biological Farmers of Australia as a Cosmetic Advisor. It was really important to me to have the Little Innoscents range Australian Certified Organic, because it makes a statement about who Little Innoscents is... it means everything to us and gives our consumers the assurance that our products have been manufactured and handled according to strict guidelines - completely free of chemicals. Since the birth of Little Innoscents, Antonette was blessed to fall pregnant again with her second child Antonio and continues to look after both her children from home while working on her growing company. DIRECTOR PROFILE Antonette Golikidis is the innovative force behind Little Innoscents, an Australian made organic baby skincare range that is certified by the Australian Certified Organic (ACO). After having a successful corporate job in the telecommunications industry, Antonette felt there was something missing and decided to risk it all when she left her glitzy corporate job. She then founded a corporate massage company, traveling to offices around Melbourne CBD to help busy professionals who were time poor to get in some much needed relaxation. She began creating creams for many of her clients skin problems which led her to found the Little Innoscents range when she fell pregnant with her first baby boy, Alex. The sparks began igniting her motivation when she searched endlessly for products which were safe to use on her babies skin without b e i n g r i d d l e d w i t h d a n g e rous t o x i c chemicals. Antonette believed many of the products on the supermarket shelves offered misleading advice that she couldn t trust. Coming from an Aromatherapy and Health Science background, Antonette understood exactly what the chemicals were in those products ingredients lists and knew she couldn t dare to purchase such a product. With her passion and love for all things natural, Antonette began making creams her own kitchen. This went on for 10 months until she perfected the formulations of seven of the Little Innoscents products and then launched the company in 2007. Her personal mission which has been instilled in the company is to provide consumers with natural, safe and organic skincare products for babies that can effectively treat stressful skin conditions. The Little Innoscents range can also successfully treat a wide range of childhood health and skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis. FACT SHEET 1 2 Little Innoscents is proudly Australian owned and run by Director Antonette Golikidis Little Innoscents was established in 2007. 8 Little Innoscents products are proudly branded with the Australia made logo, keeping business and manufacturing within Australia is important to Little Innoscents philosophy. 3 Little Innoscents was one of the first organic baby care product to be certified by the Australia Certified Organic (ACO) 9 The epidermis, or the outer layer of a baby s skin is 20-30% thinner and therefore less resilient than an adults skin. 4 5 6 7 Little Innoscents is 100% Natural, free from any synthetic ingredients, Parabens, SLS or SLES, Petro chemicals and GM material. There is currently no regulatory body in Australia that monitors the labeling of organic produce and products. This primarily affects the retail public. Consumers for whom this is an issue are willing to pay premium prices. In Australia, being able to put the word organic on a product is a marketing advantage, but does not guarantee the product is legitimately organic. The US, European Union, Canada and Japan have comprehensive organic legislation, and the term organic may only be applied to packaging by certified producers. It is in these footsteps that Antonette hopes Australia follows. 10 11 12 13 14 In 2010, Antonette Golikidis was announced to become the new Cosmetic Advisor on the Biological Farmers of Australia (BFA) committee. Little Innoscents products are stocked in over 600 stores nationwide and have distributors and stockists throughout the world. Most early childhood complaints and skin issues can be prevented by using natural products. At its most basic, chemical absorption can irritate, sensitise and destroy skin tissue. One of the worst ingredients you can use in products are various preservatives and foaming agents. Many of these are known carcinogenic s Foaming agents produce bubbles or foam and as lovely as they appear, many people have come to believe that this is what cleans our skin. This is a myth. The foaming agents are simply aesthetically pleasing and do little to actually clean.
