The Light Spring Before we jump into learning how to wear all of the exciting colors in your palette... it s important to understand your overall coloring and how to wear your colors in general. Your coloring is a light spring... which means that you have fairly low contrast between your hair, skin and eyes. Your overall look is LIGHT. Your colors come straight from spring where you will see an array of light pastels to some bright colors. Your colors are not oversaturated or too dark... because those would look wrong on you. Light spring colors are also not muted... because those would drain you of color. You ll want to stick to brighter and truer colors. The most important style tip I can give you is to keep your color combinations low contrast. A dark blue and white striped dress, for example, will look jarring on you. A soft creme blouse will look lovely on you... but pairing it with a dark navy jacket will not be in harmony with your overall coloring. Your colors and contrast are most important around and near your face. The further away from your face, the more liberties you have with color and contrast. If you want to look your BEST... keep your colors in low to medium contrast. So... a bright pink blouse with a navy sweater would look very striking. A soft creme blouse with light grey slacks would be lovely on you. A light pink t-shirt with kahki shorts is perfect. A darker teal sweater with a charcoal grey blazer will be much more flattering on you than pairing that same sweater with a cream blazer. For the rest of this book, I will be breaking down your color palette into different categories and moods. You re going to learn how to choose your colors so that your outfit reflects your mood, personality and life scenario. Just imagine getting ready for a party and knowing exactly what colors to pull together to give just the right impression. Maybe you want to be the center of attention... maybe you want to fall into the background... maybe you want to feel important... maybe you want to feel flirlty and sexy... I m going to explain how to wear all of your colors so that you are empowered to design the perfect outfit for any situation in your life. YourColorStyle.com 2 Jennifer Thoden

Your Neutrals Let s start out with your neutral colors. Your neutral colors are your basics. These are the colors that will go with any color in your color palette. They are the base of any outfit. When in doubt on what to wear... pick up a neutral bottom... put on a colored top... and you re good to go. Is it really that simple? Well, sure... it CAN be that simple... BUT not all neutrals are created equal! There are 3 category of neutrals... Formal, Business and Casual. Your Black This is your version of black. Your black is what you might wear to an important event or when you need to represent some authority. This is a very serious color for you. Your suits should be in your black. Wearing shorts or casual pants in your black just won t look right on you. You can always break the rules... just understand the statement you are making when you wear this color. Your Brown This is a neutral that should be your go-to for most business occassions... and really, your best neutral for almost all occassions. You can wear your brown as a dressier outfit for going out... Just don t go to a formal event in your brown. Casual This is your casual neutral. Your shorts, casual pants and skirts will be in casual. You would never wear your casual basics when giving a business presentation or to a formal event. Now, that you understand that you have 3 neutrals to work with... and how to wear them... let s go to the next page to discover the exact colors from your color palette that fall into each category. Your Black Your version of black is navy blue, blue charcoal, teal and light navy. Instead of wearing a black suit to work... wear a navy blue suit. You will look powerful and stunning. Instead of wearing a black dress to an event, wear a teal dress. You ll get the same look and the color will look so much nicer on you. For business situations, you would wear your version of black as a suit... although you could certainly wear this color as a dress or as trousers. Black on a Light Spring is very harsh and I would avoid it. This may be very disappointing to you because I know black is a favorite for many people. So... all is not lost! If you want to look your BEST... wear any of your Light Spring darker colors close to your face. For example... wear your little black dress but wear a deep teal silk scarf around your neck. You can wear your black on its own... but you will come across as serious and unapproachable. If that is not your intent... add a color from your color palette. YourColorStyle.com 5 Jennifer Thoden
Soften your look by adding in light lavender. Light lavender looks beautiful on you and works very well with navy and teal. Add some power to your look with warm red. Leave the power combo of red and navy as is, or layer on light golden yellow for an unexpected and beautiful ensemble. YourColorStyle.com 6 Jennifer Thoden
Combine your black with bright and friendly pinks. This look says I m approachable. Professional and polished. YourColorStyle.com 7 Jennifer Thoden
Your Brown Your version of Brown are the colors that will work best for your basic clothing. Wear warm chocolate browns and camel as pants, skirts, jackets, tops and dresses. This is still a more formal color set... you could wear a suit in these colors... and maybe cocktail evening wear in these colors. But for the most part, you d wear these as business casual and perfect complements to almost all of your colors. You can wear your brown with just about any of your colors... and for just about any occassion... just make sure that the overall contrast level of your outfit is on the low side. Choose a handbag in your basic brown to have a neutral purse for all of your outfits. You can also wear your browns on their own when you want to fall into the background... and not make much of a statement. You ll be... well... neutral! YourColorStyle.com 8 Jennifer Thoden

Your Casual Colors Your casual colors are the colors that work best as shorts, denim, khakis... anything very casual. Let s not forget about jeans! Blue jeans also fall into this category even though you won t see a color for them. Wear your jeans with any of your casual colors for a super casual, laid back look. Or pair your jeans with any of your colors to set your mood. Blue jeans are my favorite neutral because you can dress them up or down based on the top, shoes and accessories. You can certainly wear them to work if your office allows it... just keep in mind that they are still casual... even if you re wearing pumps. YourColorStyle.com 11 Jennifer Thoden
