Complex sensations, easy formulating. Flexibility dimensions of natural emulsifiers

Affordable O/W Body Lotion (SZ 24/14-87) A TEGO Care PBS 6 (Polyglyceryl-6 Stearate (and) Polyglyceryl-6 Behenate) 2.00 TEGO Alkanol 1618 (Cetearyl Alcohol) 0.75 TEGIN M Pellets (Glyceryl Stearate) 0.75 TEGO Care PBS 6 is a versatile PEG-free O/W emulsifier for challenging fluid emulsions. It supports the preparation of emulsions based on a hot/cold process which has the advantage that only the oil phase needs to be heated up. No subsequent cooling step is needed. Alternatively this emulsion can be manufactured by one-pot-process as well as via emulsion concentrate. TEGOSOFT P (Isopropyl Palmitate) 4.00 TEGOSOFT CT (Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride) 4.00 B Water 84.30 C Glycerin 3.00 TEGO Carbomer 141 (Carbomer) 0.20 (Euxyl PE 9010, Schülke & Mayr GmbH) 1.00 D Sodium Hydroxide (10% in water) q.s. 1. Disperse carbomer in phase B and heat to approx. 30 C. 2. Heat phase A separately to approx. 70 C. 3. Add phase A to phase B during homogenization. 4. Homogenize until uniform. 5. Add phase C and D while stirring and mix well until uniform. Emulsion viscosity: 27 Pa s (Brookfield RV DV-I, spindle 4, 5 rpm) 2/8 Evonik Nutrition & Care GmbH September 2015

Easy-to-spread O/W Body Spray (SZ 24/14-100) A Water 85.80 Glycerin 3.00 The versatile O/W emulsifier TEGO Care PBS 6 is especially suitable for formulating low-viscous systems like this Easy-to-Spread O/W Body Spray. This spray system can be manufactured with a simple one-pot-process helping to reduce the complexity of the production set up. TEGO Carbomer 141 (Carbomer) 0.20 B C TEGO Care PBS 6 (Polyglyceryl-6 Stearate (and) Polyglyceryl-6 Behenate) 2.00 TEGOSOFT P (Isopropyl Palmitate) 4.00 TEGOSOFT CT (Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride) 4.00 (Euxyl PE 9010, Schülke & Mayr GmbH) 1.00 D Sodium Hydroxide (10% in water) q.s. 1. Disperse carbomer in phase A and heat to approx. 75 C. 2. Add ingredients of phase B to phase A in the given order. Stir well after each single ingredient. 3. Homogenize. 4. Cool down with simple stirring to approx. 35 C and add phase C. Stir well. 5. Adjust the ph value to 6-6.5 with phase D. Emulsion viscosity: 5 Pa s (Brookfield RV DV-I, spindle 4, 5 rpm) 3/8

Rich And Caring O/W Cream (H 25/14-3) A TEGO Care PSC 3 (Polyglyceryl-3 Dicitrate/Stearate) 4.00 TEGIN M Pellets (Glyceryl Stearate) 2.00 TEGO Alkanol 18 (Stearyl Alcohol) 1.00 TEGOSOFT P (Isopropyl Palmitate) 12.00 TEGOSOFT CT (Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride) 16.00 TEGOSOFT OER (Oleyl Erucate) 5.00 Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil 10.00 B Water 43.00 Glycerin 2.00 C Xanthan Gum (Keltrol CG-SFT, CP Kelco) 0.20 Glycerin 1.00 Water 2.80 D Sodium Hydroxide (10% in water) 0.20 Benzyl Alcohol; Glycerin; Benzoic Acid; Sorbic Acid (Rokonsal BSB-N, Ashland) 0.80 TEGO Care PSC 3 is a natural, cost-efficient PEG-free O/W emulsifier that is able to handle oil phases from very low to very high amounts. This natural O/W cream contains 50% oil phase and is processed via a classical hot/hot process. The rich and caring skin feel is obtained by the emulsifier in combination with suitable emollients like TEGOSOFT OER, a Jojoba oil alternative. 1. Prepare phase C separately by adding the ingredients in the given order. 2. Heat phase A and B separately to 70-75 C. 3. Add phase A to phase B with stirring. 1) 4. Homogenize. 5. Cool down with stirring to approx. 40 C. 6. Add phase C and stir well. 7. Add ingredients of phase D in the given order and stir well in between. 8. Adjust the ph value to 5.0-5.5. 1) Important: If phase A has to be charged into the vessel first, phase B must be added without stirring. Emulsion viscosity: 60 Pa s (Brookfield RV DV-I, spindle C, 10 rpm) 4/8 Evonik Nutrition & Care GmbH September 2015

Energizing Light Face Care Cream (MK 2/14-84) A TEGO Care PSC 3 (Polyglyceryl-3 Dicitrate/Stearate) 2.50 TEGIN M Pellets (Glyceryl Stearate) 2.00 TEGO Alkanol 18 (Stearyl Alcohol) 1.00 TEGOSOFT P (Isopropyl Palmitate) 3.50 TEGOSOFT CT (Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride) 3.00 TEGOSOFT OER (Oleyl Erucate) 2.00 B Water 30.00 Glycerin 3.00 TEGO Cosmo C 100 (Creatine) 0.50 TEGO Carbomer 134 (Carbomer) 0.20 C Water 51.30 D Sodium Hydroxide (10% in water) q.s. E (Euxyl PE 9010, Schülke & Mayr GmbH) 1.00 This Energizing Light Face Care Cream is produced via an emulsion concentrate. During this process the major part of the water does not have to be heated up which allows a more quick and cost-efficient production. An additional benefit of TEGO Care PSC 3 is its formulation flexibility with regard to oil phase content. Cost-efficient creams with a low oil phase (14%) content can be formulated providing a light, non-watery skin feel. 1. Disperse carbomer in phase B and heat to approx. 75 C. 2. Heat phase A separately to approx. 75 C. 3. Add phase A to phase B during homogenization. 4. Homogenize until uniform. 5. Dilute phase A/B with phase C (room temperature). 6. Homogenize for a short time. 7. Add phase D and E while stirring and mix well in between. Emulsion viscosity: 44 Pa s (Brookfield RV DV-I, spindle C, 10 rpm) 5/8
