COMPETITION TIMETABLE NOTE: All participants will need to register at the Competition Registration/Assembly Area inside the Exhibition Hall at least 30 minutes before the starting time of their chosen category. COMPETITION CATEGORIES MEN S FREESTYLE (OPEN) 50 MINS This category is open to both apprentice and qualified barbers. Imagination and creativity will be the key focus and displayed in the completed designs. Participants will display the newest, hottest and coolest hairstyles for today s modern man, using contemporary techniques and finishing the cut with the latest in product selection. SET UP TIME 5 mins WORKING TIME 30 mins JUDGING TIME 15 mins JUDGING CRITERIA A male model must be used. No pre-cutting or styling allowed A significant amount of hair must be removed from the whole head Clipper attachments allowed Simple hair tracks are allowed No hair art allowed Hair may be pre-coloured No wigs, hair pieces or extensions allowed One electrical power point per participant (No double adaptors allowed) It is preferred that the hair is styled ready for judging no extra time will be given for this It is preferred that your model remains in attendance until all winners are announced

COMPETITION CATEGORIES CONT. TRADITIONAL BARBERING (OPEN) 50 MINS This category is open to both apprentices and senior stylists. Using traditional barbering techniques to produce quality fashion looks and trends. Entrants will cut, style, groom and dress the hair to reflect traditional barbershop hairstyles. SET UP TIME 5 mins WORKING TIME 30 mins JUDGING TIME 15 mins JUDGING CRITERIA A male model must be used. No pre-cutting or styling allowed Clipper attachments allowed- A minimum clipper- No. 2 blade Traditional barbering techniques (Scissor/ Clipper over comb) must be used to complete the style No track work allowed No hair art allowed No flat tops, mow hawks, skin fades etc. No wigs, hair pieces or extensions allowed A significant amount of hair must be removed from the whole head One electrical power point per participant (No double adaptors allowed) It is preferred that the hair is styled ready for judging no extra time will be given for this Hair may be pre-coloured It is preferred that your model remains in attendance until all winners are announced

COMPETITION CATEGORIES CONT. HAIR ART (OPEN) 60 MINS This category is open to both apprentice and qualified barbers. Participants will display their hair art capabilities. Judging will be based on creativity, colour usage, cleanliness and the overall result. SET UP TIME 5 mins WORKING TIME 40 mins JUDGING TIME 15 mins JUDGING CRITERIA A male model must be used The hair may be pre-clipper but no pre-design work is allowed (No lines no old existing art work) Hair may be pre-coloured and hair paint is allowed No offensive designs please No wigs, hair pieces or extensions allowed One electrical power point per participant (No double adaptors allowed) It is preferred that your model remains in attendance until all winners are announced

COMPETITION CATEGORIES CONT. ONLINE PHOTOGRAPHIC MEN S TOTAL LOOK ONLINE SUBMISSION - DUE 1 JULY 2019 TO ENTER THIS COMPETITION YOU MUST REGISTER THROUGH THE BHBE TICKETING SITE VIA WWW.BHBE. COM.AU, HOWEVER ALL PHOTOGRAPHIC SUBMISSIONS WILL BE JUDGED ONLINE. Once you have purchased your registration, all photographic submissions must be received via email no later than 11:59pm (AEST) Monday 1st July 2019. Entries must be emailed to grace@majorleague.com.au as per the below instructions Competitors are allowed to enter more than one submission into this category. The cost to enter is $55 per individual photo submission. Images submitted for the BHBE online barber/hair competition must not have been submitted, used or published before for any other local, national or international barber/hair competition. Images must be new and have not been seen before. Images must not have been uploaded onto any social media platforms prior to entering the BHBE online makeup e.g. Instagram or Facebook A BHBE statutory declaration form must be submitted along with the image to confirm authenticity of the submission. This form can be found on http://www.brisbanehairandbeautyexpo.com.au/barberingcompetition/. Please note that this form does NOT have to be signed by a Justice of the Peace. All winning images will be printed and displayed by BHBE and be part of an overall photographic galley to be featured at the expo. All images become the property of the BHBE A male model must be used for the Men s Total Look category (Open) and must represent modern haircutting and styling techniques - colour is not compulsory for the Men s category The use of hair wefts, hairpieces and extensions is allowed. Nudity is prohibited 2 x photos must be included with each entry from the following angles: - 1x Head shot - 1x Waist up (mid shot) The image MUST be portrait Each photo file size to be a minimum 5mb as a JPG and in HIGH Resolution. Ensure the photo file name includes only the photo angle i.e. head shot and your QR CODE, which can be found on your registration ticket. Please include the following details in your submission email: - Name - QR CODE No. (located on your entry ticket) - Address - Phone Number - Email - Salon Name - Salon address - Photographer name - Model name You may source photographers, makeup stylists and costume stylists, however ALL HAIR must be the competitors own work unassisted and original. Disqualification will be enforced even after the event if Judges can confirm work is not original and unassisted.

RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY ENTRY ONLINE ENTRY REGISTRATION FOR ALL CATEOGRIES FOUND AT: /barber-competitions/ Registration open for all BHBE competitions opens Wednesday 3rd April 2019. Online Photographic category registration and submissions must be completed and received prior to the entry closing date at 11:59pm (AEST) on Monday 1st July 2019 Entries for live categories must be completed and received prior to the entry closing date at 11:59pm (AEST) on Friday 12th July 2019 All Entry Fees include free Brisbane Hair and Beauty Access for one (1) competitor and one (1) model. 1. GENERAL 1.1 Brisbane Hair and Beauty Expo will be hosted on Sunday 28th & Monday 29th July 2019 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. 1.2 The Barber Competition will be hosted on Sunday 28th July 2019 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. 1.3 Competitors must ensure that all relevant fields within the Online Entry Registration are completed, and must include all relevant payment details Online Entries can be made at www.bhbe. com.au/barber-competitions 1.4 Online Entry Registrations that are incomplete or do not include relevant payment details may not be accepted. 1.5 Photographic online categories for Men s Total Look entries and submissions close 11:59pm (AEST) on Monday 1st July 2019. Entries for live categories received after the entry closing date at 11:59pm (AEST) Friday 12th July will not be accepted. 1.6 The Brisbane Hair & Beauty Expo reserves the right to: a) Merge any categories if there are less than five competitors b) Withdraw any categories at any time prior to the Competition. 1.7 The Competition organizers are not responsible for competitors not adhering to or understanding the Competition Rules and Regulations. 1.8 Participants must abide by the relevant Category Criteria; disqualification may occur if the relevant Competition Criteria is not adhered to. 1.9 All categories will be judged as a total look (Top to Toe). 1.10 Participants must have their own styling products to use to complete the style. 1.11 All participants receiving coaching during the competition will be asked to leave the floor. 1.12 Once the competition has started, participants must stay on the competition floor with their model at all times 1.13 No mobile phones, ipods or MP3 players are to be on the competition floor. 1.14 Models must not touch their own hair whilst on the competition floor. 1.15 There will be no basins for use for shampooing of the hair. Hair will be wet down with a water spray only. 2. REFUNDS/WITHDRAWALS 2.1 We are not required to provide a refund or replacement if you change your mind to withdraw from the competition, however you are welcome to transfer your ticket to another person. You may have other rights under Australian Consumer Law. For full details please contact the organiser or your relevant government agency. 2.2 All Competition withdrawals or transfers MUST. be submitted in writing to relevant Competition Coordinator and Event Organisers. 3. REGISTRATION AND ASSEMBLY 3.1 All participants will need to register at the Competition Registration/Assembly Area inside the Exhibition Hall at least 30 minutes before the starting time of their chosen category. Participants will be allocated 5-10 minutes to set up their workstation within the competition area prior to the start time of their competition. Please refer to timetable

RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY CONT. 3.2 All competitors and models who require early entry prior to the Expo doors opening will be granted access inside the Exhibition Hall to register at the Competition Registration/Assembly Area. Instructions will be provided by the event organiser in the lead up to the Expo on how to gain entry. 3.3 A permission to photograph will be signed by both participant and model at Competition Registration/Assembly prior to competing. 4. ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT & ELECTRICITY 4.1 Participants must have all of their own equipment ready to begin at the allocated time (you will not be allowed to borrow from other competitors). 4.2 The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) Management reserves the right to request removal from the site of any electrical equipment it deems to be non-compliant or suspect and can call upon internal specialists to assist when necessary. 4.3 All portable electrical equipment, appliances and leads used on the BCEC site must be tested and tagged in accordance with Australian Standard 3760 and Workplace Health & Safety Legislation. Any electrical equipment found not tested will have to be done immediately or removed from the Centre. 4.4 Each participant will be provided with 1 (one) electrical power point ONLY for use on the competition floor. 4.5 For safety reasons, double adaptors are not to be used in the Centre. Any person who suffers an electric shock from any piece of electrical equipment MUST report the incident IMMEDIATELY to the Barber Competition Coordinator, Event Organisers or Centre s Security Department. 5. JUDGING 5.1 Judging will be at the completion of each category. 15-10 minutes will be allocated for judging on the competition floor. 5.2 On completion of judging, all competitors will allow their models to be photographed by an official photographer; this may be used for future marketing or advertising purposes. 5.3 Judging of the photographic online submissions will take prior to BHBE. Winners and place getters will be announced during the Hair Competition presentation on Sunday 28th July approximately 3:15pm. 5.4 The judges decision is final. 6. PRESENTATIONS (1ST, 2ND, 3RD PLACE FOR EACH CATEGORY) 6.1 Award presentations will be made to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters in each category at approximately 12:45pm on Sunday 28th July 2019 on the Barbershop stage (time is subject to slight change). 6.2 On completion of presentations 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters will allow their models to be photographed; this may be used for future marketing, social media or advertising. 6.3 Presentation for the Men s Total Look Online Photographic competition will be held during the Hair Competition presentation on Sunday 28th July approximately on Centre Stage. 7. LIABILITY 7.1 Each competitor and model assumes all risk for any liabilities, expense, loses, damages and costs resulting directly or indirectly from their participation in the Competition and indemnifies the Competition coordinator, Brisbane Hair and Beauty Expo any employee, officer or agent or Major League Marketing and Events for any expense, loss, damage, liability or cost (including legal costs on a full indemnity basis and whether incurred by or awarded against a party) resulting directly or indirectly from the negligent or unlawful acts or omission of a competitors or models. 7.2 The Brisbane Hair and Beauty Expo, its Organisers (Major League Marketing and Events), employees, officers and agents, Competition Coordinator and the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre shall not be held accountable or liable for any liabilities, expenses, losses, damages, harm, injury or costs incurred by a competitor or model resulting directly or indirectly from their participation in the Competition.
