From the Competition Director World of WearableArt s relationship with Hong Kong Design Institute began in 2011 and, over the years, has become a highly valued education partnership. Each year, the World of WearableArt Awards attracts entries from more than 40 countries. Hong Kong Design Institute is always well represented in both the number of entries and standard of work being produced by the students. To date, a total of 26 finalist garments from Hong Kong Design Institute have appeared on the WOW Awards Show stage and 10 Awards have been won by Hong Kong Design Institute students. Offering this platform which develops and extends the abilities of the students and provides them with a unique opportunity to showcase their design skills and creativity through the World of WearableArt Awards Show is something we are very proud of. In this, our 30th Anniversary Show year, we wish to recognise and celebrate our special relationship with Hong Kong Design Institute. In particular, I would like to acknowledge the enthusiasm and support of Shaun Cheung and Cassidy Dung from the Department of Fashion and Image Design. We look forward to continuing to work with Hong Kong Design Institute for many years to come. HEATHER PALMER Competition Director
