MANDEVILLE OF LONDON Mandeville of London has been designing and making wigs and hairpieces since 1970. The photographs in this brochure are a reflection of some of our work over the past few years. We would especially like to thank all our clients who agreed to be photographed and without whom the brochure could not have been produced. 1
INTRODUCTION The creative team at Mandeville is dedicated to producing wigs and hairpieces that both look and react like naturally growing hair, and which can be individually cut to any style on the client s head. 2
RESEARCH Mandeville has always recognised the importance of research and development in order to achieve the very best results. Over the years Mandeville has won two SMART awards (the British government s prestigious award to assist with research and technology). The latest research programme has led to a number of totally new concepts in wig and hairpiece design. These revolutionary advancements have culminated in the current Mandeville Collections. Mandeville wigs and hairpieces are unquestionably superior to the best of existing products. They have no equal. 3
FOUNDATION Mandeville wigs and hairpieces are individually crafted and handmade using super-fine, transparent, extra strong foundation materials invented by, and exclusive to Mandeville. The foundation is so fine it can scarcely be felt on the head, and so transparent it can barely be seen, even when the hair is disarranged. The materials are strong, yet the foundation is light, comfortable and cool to wear whilst always feeling secure. 4
HAIR Mandeville selects only the finest quality 100% natural European hair. It can be straight, movement, waved or curly, and is artfully matched to colour and texture in the required lengths. European hair is essential to achieve both the perfect look and feel, and because of its superb quality, it moves and swings like naturally growing hair. 5
SPECIAL PROCESSES Mandeville has created a unique method of attaching up to 70,000 hairs to the foundation. The hairs are singly hand-knotted and anchored following the pattern of natural growth, including the spiral of the crown. The result is a natural looking head of hair with lifelike lift and bounce. 6

THE JANINE HARPER STORY I was diagnosed with alopecia at the age of 11 and lost all my hair. I felt unattractive, inferior, inhibited and very depressed. I was teased at school and by other children where I lived. They were often very cruel. I didn t want to go out, feeling unable to mix with people as every second my hairloss was a problem. The only wigs available looked unnatural, didn t fit, and felt uncomfortable. I lived in constant fear of detection, fear of the weather wind, rain, heat. I didn t recognise myself any more. I felt my personality had been lost along with my hair. I thought I would never overcome my personal crisis. 12
I was then introduced to Master Wigmaker John Clifton, founder of Mandeville of London, who agreed to make me a wig. 13
When I saw myself in my Mandeville wig, for the first time in years, I saw me again, I felt normal! I felt confident that my hair now looked completely natural and I noticed that people looked at me straight in the eyes and not at the wig I was wearing. I was able to mix with people again without feeling different. This changed my life completely. 14
Then, much to my surprise, Mandeville asked me if I would like to model for them. It had been a childhood dream of mine to be a model and, because of my situation, I thought that this would never be possible, so I was delighted to accept. 15
I did a series of photographic shoots wearing different wigs short, medium, long, dark, blonde, red in a complete variety of styles. I appeared on television, in newspapers and magazines, and in the Mandeville Brochure. Now my hair has completely regrown and I no longer need a wig but, looking back, I know how lucky I was to find Mandeville and what a difference their fabulous wigs made to my life. 16

The completed wig, three-quarter wig or hairpiece is cut and styled on your head by an appointed hairdresser. A completely bespoke product requiring a minimum of three fittings. Mandeville has created a limited collection of ready-made wigs which are designed to fit most head sizes. They are available in a choice of 12 carefully selected colours. Ready-made wigs are cut and dressed on your head to your preferred style.
