Cover: "Bronce a Vela" 1963 "Hiparxiologic Tabernacle" 1963 ~ Xavier Corbero is a sculptor and a Spaniard from Barcelona. He is destined to become a symbol of the power of art to communicate across geographical, political, and language barriers, one of the principal pre-occupations of the 20th century. Corbero's sculpture invites, in fact requires, that the viewer take an active part in the establishment of the harmony of the visual elements most meaningful to himself. To this end his compositions are within predetermined limits manipulative. His sculpture is to be seen and touched before it is completely understood. Each form of art becomes autonomous, yet the expressions of man are always shown through the consistency of archetypes. Expression must be impersonal, not the artist. )I,~!..
