Participant Registration Thrift Shop Fashion Show Registration form is due no later than Friday, October 25 th by 5:00 pm to Student Involvement, RSC 262. Thrift Shop Fashion Show Rules & Guidelines General Guidelines $10.00 refundable deposit will be submitted with the registration form and will be refunded following the completion of the event on Friday, November 15. If registrant fails to participate in the event, deposit will be forfeited. All completed looks are the responsibility of the registrant. Registrant is responsible for obtaining models, music, and participating in dress rehearsal prior to the show. SAC provided emcee will make announcements throughout the show. Registrant will provide short descriptions of individual looks including but not limited to concept, inspiration, and thrift shop where items were purchased. Order of the show will be determined at random and will not be adjusted. University Performance Facilities will be on hand the evening of the show to run the rehearsal and actual event. They will provide minimal but appropriate lighting for the show and manage the music you provide. Introduction card that will be handed out at the rehearsal at November 15 at 6:00 pm must be filled out before the actual start of the event at 7:00 pm. Participant Rules THE LOOK Registrants must purchase clothing items from local thrift stores. (Venues such as antique malls and resale stores such as Plato s Closet are not acceptable.) o Thrift Shop clothing items included in looks include; pants, trousers, skirts, dresses, blouses, shirts, jackets, suits, hats, personal accessories and jewelry o Undergarments including socks, hosiery, underwear, bras and camisoles may be bought new or be part of an existing wardrobe o Shoes may be purchased at thrift shop or may be part of an existing wardrobe Registrant must complete o Minimum of 2 completed looks o Maximum of 5 complete looks The total cost of each outfit must be equal or lesser than $20.00 o Receipts should be turned in with music on Tuesday, November 12 MODELS Participants must provide their own models. o Models may be of any age and are not limited to WSU students o Children 7 and under must be escorted by registrant or model Participants hair and makeup must be completed prior to rehearsal o All makeup and hair service must be provided by participant

Please refrain from the use of nudity. All clothing items must cover any area of the body that may be deemed inappropriate by general viewing audience. SOUND & LIGHTING University Performance Facilities will be on hand the evening of the show to run the rehearsal and actual event. They will provide minimal but appropriate lighting for the show and manage the music you provide. Registrant must provide music to accompany models. o Music must be edited and submitted in mp3 format on CD to Student Involvement, RSC 262 by Wednesday, November 6. Rehearsals will take place on the day of the show beginning at 5:00 pm. Participants will sign up rehearsal time when submitting music to Student Involvement. Judging o o Judging & Awards Judges will be volunteers from the local fashion community including thrift shop/boutique owners and fashion buyers. 3-5 judges will be at the event judging looks live based on the following criteria: Overall Look Fabric texture and pattern coordinate Style and clothing are suitable for models size and body build Accessories coordinate well and are appropriate Overall Thriftiness The look appears fashionable Garments are free of stains or unintentional tears The completed look appears to be valued at more than the $20 budget o The outfits will be judged based on the average of the whole collection. Awards o 1 st Place - $100 Cash Award o 2 nd Place - $75 Cash Award o 3 rd Place - $50 Cash Award Cash Awards will be distributed to winners in the form of check. Awards will be available one week following the completion of the fashion show.

(No more than 100 words) o Rehearsal (refer to time scheduled on Wednesday, November 6) Thursday, November 21 o Checks made available to winning participants
