can purchase equipment and pigments from us receive a list of tools & supplies and recommended permanent makeup & tattoo suppliers, reducing startup costs and eliminating the middle man. Try Before You Buy An expensive machine is an option and we ll be more than happy to sell you one; however, that choice can lock you into much higher operating costs (needles and pigments) reducing your net income. Since machine prices vary from $250 to $4300, it s important that micropigmentation artists try different models prior to choosing equipment. With us you have the option to test hand tools, rotary and digital machines. NO CONFLICT OF INTEREST The Centre for Permanent Makeup has no conflict of interest related to equipment or pigments. We offer information on a variety of pigments and the opportunity for students to experience a number of different machines. No surprises Students do not find when they arrive for instruction that they are obligated to pay an additional $3500 - $4300 + HST for digital equipment. ABOUT THE OWNER Maureen Williams, the owner of the Centre for Permanent Makeup, is 1 of only 5 Canadian members of the prestigious American Academy of Micropigmentation (AAM). The AAM is the only trade organization in North America for micropigmentation artists that is physician founded & managed and that tests permanent makeup artists' knowledge prior to granting membership. Maureen is a member of the National Areola & Nipple Tattoo Registry. In 2006, Maureen received certification for Beginner & Advanced (scar & areola) Micropigmentation, the use of hand tools for hair stroke eyebrows (aka microblading), Rejuvi Permanent Makeup & Tattoo Removal and Dry Needling (brown spot, capillary and wrinkle removal). In 2009, she received training in Ontario on the use of the Nouveau Contour Intelligent digital machine. 7
Maureen is certified every two years in Blood Borne Pathogens & Communicable Diseases by a Department of Health approved educator. Maureen has also taken eye shadow & para-medical micropigmentation training in Florida. In May, 2014, she was certified for tattoo removal using the Tattoo Vanish method in Las Vegas, Nevada. In December 2014, she trained with Alexis Lawson, Softap founder, in the use of hand tools. Alexis has a 25 year history in the industry. Maureen is of the opinion that practitioners need to continually evolve through education and training and that the goal of permanent makeup artists should be to create a natural look. She performs cosmetic and para-medical procedures working with permanent makeup or tattoo pigments depending on the treatment objective and client preference. Rather than restricting practical work to supervising students, Maureen continues to hone her skills by offering micropigmentation services thus ensuring that she is up to date on best practices, safety issues, risks and hazards, the performance of different pigment brands and equipment, legislation and evolving trends. Prior to choosing permanent makeup, Maureen worked as a contract Writer & Researcher, Fund Raiser, Insurance Broker and Financial Planner, Manager of Information & Technology, Manager of Administration, Finance Officer and clerk.
