Slide 13 Plusbond Individual Keratin bonds that are designed for many reasons, available in regular and micro size. Where are they used for: - Re-applying clients extensions during maintenance program - Using less extensions on shorter hair styles (flexibility to use wasted length) - To attach Balmain DoubleHair - On Avant Garde techniques or hairstyles Plusbonds are especially for long hair and oily hair. They are transparent and do not stick to the fingers while you are applying. Slide 14 Let s start Important: Discover your client s expectations Stress the importance of good maintenance Length of hair: neck: min. 8 cm - top: min. 12 cm (normal density) If the hair is weak, apply 5 extensions; test after 1-2 weeks Wash the hair with Cleanser - Do NOT apply conditioner Dry and brush the hair, make sure the hair is cooled off completely Slide 15 Tips & Tricks Start applying DoubleHair in the nape area. Never place DoubleHair directly on the crestline, always under or above it. On the crestline hair will fall open and the DoubleHair will become visible. DoubleHair placed above the crestline should be re-applied every 4-6 weeks otherwise the DoubleHair becomes visible. DoubleHair placed under the crestline needs to be replaced every 6-10 weeks. Clients with sleek hair should not have DoubleHair placed above the crestline. Finish with MICRO Fill-In extensions. Do not place extensions and DoubleHair closer than 2 cm from the contourline. In this way the DoubleHair doesn t become visible when you make a tail or updo. You must only double the length of the natural hair to keep it looking realistic and manageable for your client. Slide 16 Color matching Choose the color closest to the mid-lengths and ends of the client s natural hair color by using your colorchart. This is because it is where the existing hairstyle will blend into the new extended length. There are 9 different shades available. Note that the colorchart has 100% human hair swatches. (The color can fade by the influence of bright light or sunlight). 7
Slide 17 Perming / coloring If more color or structure is desired DoubleHair can be permed and colored Always perform a test before perming or coloring If you perm - use a soft perming-lotion at room temperature If you color - mix permanent color with max. 3% peroxide Choose a color of the same level or one level darker Protect the keratin/bond behind a comb Color or perm extensions 3 days before the application Extension color 613 and 614 - never perm or color! Slide 18 With only one DoubleHair treatment: complete lengthening and more volume (Show the models and describe the application/placement with the help of the technical drawings) Slide 19 Symbols 7 - stages (Give a demo of the 7 stages) Stage 1 - Parting Stage 2 - Flip Stage 3 - Pull Stage 4 - Locking Stage 5 - Heating Stage 6 - Rolling Stage 7 - Polishing Slide 20 Application - Step by step - Microbonds 1. Make a parting in the hair. Follow the rounding of the head. 2. Place the strip under the parting, split open, flip the top part over the head. Fix with a hairclip. Make sure that the top layer is on top and the strip is placed max. 0,5 cm under the parting. 3. Pull strands through the 4 locking points (6 strands). Follow the indications on the organizer. The amount of hair of one strand should be the same as one finishing extension. Use the crochetneedle to pull the strands through the locking points. 4. Place the protector around the two middle hairstrands and secure it with a clip. This will create a neat and clean area. Always start to work in the middle. Make the protector slide down slightly and evenly so that the hair hangs down loosely, without any strain. 5. Place the bonding in your connector. Wait till it starts to bubble. 6. Lock the 2 hair strands together with a Plusbond. Hold the extension/bond at the right distance 1-1,5 cm from the scalp. 8
7. Roll the Plusbond with your fingers to seal the bonding. 8. Check if the hair is not projected. The hair should hang down loosely. 9. Repeat step 5 to 8 for the other strands. 10. Move the speedorganizer slightly to the left. This creates a small space between the organizer and the DoubleHair. 11. Pull a hairstrand through the left locking point and take a hairstrand from the space between strip and organizer. Lock these two strands the same way as you did with the other strands. Repeat step 10 & 11 at the right side of the DoubleHair. 12. Now the DoubleHair is secured with 5 Plusbonds. 13. Flip back the toppart of the DoubleHair to cover the bondings. 14. Pull some own hair from underneath the DoubleHair to partially cover the strip. Slide 21 The 3 basic principles for cutting a lengthened hairstyle Cutting & Blending Pre-cut the hair before applying DoubleHair Match the colors Blowdry the hair softly with a brush Use natural straight hair (no structure) Use the organizer Use the 3 principles for cutting the hair Only use soft shiny styling products (no fixation products) Use sectioning clips Slide 22 The 3 basic principles for cutting a lengthened hairstyle 1. Slide 24 Hair Care Important: Your clients are wearing hair that s not their own Special care is required to keep the hair and connection in good shape! Use Balmain Haircare products - Balmain Shampoo - Balmain Conditioner - Balmain Hair Mask - Balmain Shine Spray Brush the hair - don t comb Don t play with the bonding Tie up hair at night or at sports Use finish products without alcohol - Extension can be worn 2-3-4 months - all depends on care - 10% of the extensions can fall out in first 6 weeks - Make an appointment - check after 10-14 days Slide 25 Remove and re-use Removal of Balmain extensions is a simple, safe and easy process, which does not damage the natural hair in anyway if it's performed by your extension stylist. Before you remove the bonds wash the client s hair with a correct shampoo and dry it. In case of a full length extension, divide the hair again in 5 areas. New System with the Quick Remover it is more easy to remove! - 75% timesaving - All in one - UV dissolve control - Ergonomic - Light weight Place the bonding in the pincer. Pull the dissolvent trigger to squirt the dissolvent on the bonding and to activate the UV light. Pull the pincer trigger to crush the bonding. The bonding can be removed 10
Old System Use the disconnector and the dissolvent Always wear gloves when you remove the extension or strips!
