CERTIFICATE IN ELECTRICAL EPILATION The main aim of the Certificate in Electrical Epilation is to enable Candidates to gain the necessary practical and theoretical skills in order to provide electrical epilation treatments. The basis of effective electrical epilation lies in a complete knowledge by the Therapist of the anatomical structures and systems in the area to be treated, coupled with a thorough understanding of the methods and application of electrical epilation techniques. This certificate will enable the Candidate to prepare for and provide electrical epilation treatments designed to meet the needs of the Client, whilst working in a safe and secure manner. This certificate will assist in providing understanding of the organisational skills required, and technical processes and procedures involved in providing electrical epilation. It will provide the foundation knowledge required to enable the Candidate to identify possible contraindications to treatment, as well as indications for, and benefits and effects of, professional electrical epilation treatments. Electrical epilation is still the preferred method of hair removal by the NHS. It can lead onto further qualifications in advanced epilation and/or onto Level 4 Laser and Light Therapy. This unit now consists of electrical and blend methods of application. The qualification consists of four mandatory units and is equivalent to a Level Three on the Qualification and Credit Framework. The folder should be large enough to hold all of this evidence generated, a lever arch folder is usually sufficient. If more than one qualification is being studied for, it is often possible to V. 0.07. CW
put all of the evidence in one folder keeping it organised and clearly identified, with the use of dividers. To remove the need to duplicated evidence it is important to be aware that if any units of study are replicated between qualifications being studied it is highly recommended that the evidence is only produced once but clearly signposted for an examiner to find.
