Uniform, Appearance and Equipment Guide Smart uniform is essential and highly valued at Stockport School. We expect students to wear their uniform correctly and with pride, both in and around school and on the journey to and from school. From September 2016, the full Stockport School Uniform Policy is as follows: All students: Single breasted black blazer with the current school badge on the breast pocket (preferably embroidered) Boys: Plain white, traditional shirt with a collar (not polo type), tucked into waistband of trousers, top button fastened Girls: Plain white fitted blouse with a collar, top button fastened or a plain white traditional shirt with a collar, tucked into waistband of skirt/trousers All students: School tie (current) clip-on, worn correctly outside shirt or blouse with top button fastened Boys: Black trousers traditional style (not stretch, jeans, cord, leggings, skinny-type or ski-pants) Girls: either Black trousers traditional style (not stretch, jeans, cord, leggings, skinny-type or ski-pants) or a pleated black skirt (reasonable length, not lycra or straight) All students: Flat, all black polishable leather shoes with black soles (no other colour, stitching or laces) No training or sports brand shoes whatsoever, no canvas shoes or neoprene material shoes, no patent shoes, no backless shoes and no boots or shoes above the ankle All students: Black v-neck pullover, with the school crest (optional for cold weather under the blazer) no cardigans or non-school style jumpers Boys: Plain black or dark grey socks Girls: Plain white/black socks or black/neutral tights. No leggings

Uniform, Appearance and Equipment Guide Drama: Trainers or plimsolls with non-marking soles (must be clean and not used for outdoor PE) to be worn in the Dance and Drama studio for Drama/Dance lessons. School shoes cannot be worn although students can choose to go barefoot. Technology: Two protective aprons are needed: Apron for Food Technology Cotton apron for Resistant Materials Art: Sketch book (available from school) We expect all students to bring the correct basic equipment to school each day in a suitable bag capable of holding A4 size paper Essentials which will be checked by Tutors and Prefects: Student planner (which should be checked and signed by your parent/carer weekly) Pens (2-3 blue or black) Pencils 15 or 30cm ruler (clear if possible for examinations) Pencil eraser Very useful extras: Coloured pencils and pens English dictionary, French/German/Spanish dictionary
Uniform, Appearance and Equipment Guide Not allowed: Plain dark weather-proof coats are acceptable and although we do not have a school outdoor uniform coat, students should NOT come to school in hooded tops/sports or tracksuit-top type jackets or non-school style jumpers, as these are NOT coats and will be confiscated by staff for a parent/carer or other responsible adult to collect No hoodies or track-suit style tops/jumpers or sports-type jackets or body-warmers No facial/other piercings (one small stud only in each ear is permitted) No jewellery apart from a watch (Smart watches are not allowed) No severe or extreme hair styles/colours No nail varnish, inappropriate nail extensions or excessive make up No Hoodies or Track-suit top style jackets No Body-warmers or non-school style jumpers Plain, dark, weather-proof coats ARE acceptable No facial piercings (one small stud in each ear ONLY) No jewellery apart from a watch No excessive make-up No nail varnish or inappropriate nail extensions
SCHOOL SHOES GUIDE From September 2016: School shoes should be all black and polishable with black soles (no other colour and no coloured areas or stitching) NO TRAINERS whatsoever allowed as school shoes NO sports branded footwear allowed as school shoes NO letters will be accepted from parents/carers in the event of a student wearing incorrect footwear (medical letter only accepted) If the correct shoes are not worn, students will be offered some of the school stock of shoes to wear or EXCLUSION
