Stable Tear Film, Healthy Eye Contopharma AG has never considered contact lens care to be just about the cleaning of the lenses. In the interest of contact lens wearers, the eye/cornea/ tear film and contact lens system must be taken into consideration and its interactions must be positively influenced. Simply One has succeeded in this task. This is because Simply One focuses on the two main functions of the tear film: moistening and nourishment. Our concept: hyaluron and minerals. Hyaluron and a stable tear film For a long time, hyaluron has been known as a polymer that is produced naturally by the human body. This polymer supports the stability of the tear film, positively affecting the cornea and thus the health of the eye. The name hyaluron refers to the natural occurrence of hyaluron in the human vitreum. Hyaluronic acid ( hyalos = Gk for vitreous ) promotes the migration and the expression of corneal epithelial cells. Hyaluronic acid binds to the CD44 receptor, which stimulates T-cells and thus curbs inflammatory reactions. 1) Minerals for the cell regeneration of the cornea Most contact lens wearers do not know that the tear film guarantees the supply of oxygen and important nutrients to the cornea. Particularly the reduced flow of tears in the use of contact lenses, however, shows how important minerals are for the healthy eye. As Roth showed in his research on cornea deprivation syndrome 2), supporting the mineral household of the tear film seems to be a particularly good idea for contact lens wearers using frequently replaced lenses (< 6month). The working mechanism of Simply One secures this interaction in two ways: Hyaluron increases the moistening of relevant surfaces (surface of the cornea and the lens) due to the hyaluroncoating-effect. This effect remains active for hours and leads to a measurable stabilisation of the tear film. Hyaluronic acid supports the transport of materials in tissues. Hyaluron The use of hyaluron achieves a coating effect. The contact lens is surrounded by hyaluron and thus creates an optimum moistening effect by binding the tear film. Hyaluron The hyaluron coating improves the moistening of the contact lens and the cornea. It reduces the mechanical friction between the contact lens and the cornea. 200% Hyaluron The hydrophobic part of hyaluron forms a connection to the cornea and to the lens matrix. The hydrophilic part of hyaluron binds water. Quite Plainly: Simply One Cleans and Disinfects Efficiently. It is no surprise that a modern contact lens solution like Simply One can clean, disinfect, store, and rinse efficiently. The basic cleaning process uses a tenside that successfully removes lipids and proteins from the contact lens. The combined use of sorbic acid and polyhexanide helps achieve a particularly wide active disinfective spectrum at particularly low concentrations. Additives like EDTA were not used. Scientific tests have shown that Simply One is efficient against bacteria and fungus, does not cause a toxic reaction in the epithelial cells of the eye, and is tolerated very well by wearers. Simply One is suited for up to three-month disposable contact lenses. It guarantees the main function of a remoistening solution through its specially adapted hyaluron and supports the balance of the ingredients for the cell function. Also suited for nonwearers of contact lenses suffering from dry eyes. Remoistening Solution with a Cleaning Effect lens & lid is recommended for heavy dispositers. It combines remoistening, regenerating, and cleaning properties and is used as a remoistening solution while the contact lenses are being worn. Recommended for tear films with a high lipid content. This is an ideal supplement in times of high pollen counts. Solution for Day Lenses Wearing new, unsoiled contact lenses offers a number of advantages. It is often forgotten that a small number of reactive monomers remain free in the lens matrix after polymerisation. Through their activation, free radicals are created that can cause an irritation of the cornea. daily soft is used before the new day lenses are inserted to neutralise free radicals. Hyaluron and minerals both have a positive effect on wearer tolerance and wearing comfort. Comfort System for Daily Lid Hygiene lid & lens is the comfortable system for daily lid care. The comfort system consists of a cleaning solution that wearers tolerate particularly well and slightly abrasive pads that have been adapted to this solution. Sebum and other cell rests, dirt or cosmetics are removed gently. lid & lens is particularly recommended for anyone with slightly seborrhoic skin changes, but it can also lead to generally improved wearing comfort for all contact lens wearers. 9
