INTRODUCTION Why are buds or new born plants so attractive? Because they constitute the embryonic part of the plant! Cellular turnover is intense, and buds contain much more nucleic acid than any other part of the plant. They concentrate the potential biological energies and all the power of the future plant. Thus they can be compared to stem cells. As this relates to the animal kingdom, we named this kind of vegetal cell, Blastocyte. It is pluripotent and so has the ability to become any kind of cell. It is responsible for the initial development of all tissues of the plant. It is in charge of longevity, permanent regeneration, protection and health balance. As long as Blastocyte lives, the vegetal never dies. Furthermore, scientific studies have demonstrated that buds can concentrate more active ingredients than adult plants (e.g. 4 to 8 times more for blackcurrant bud) or even can combine the specific activities of two parts of an adult plant (e.g. buds of linden tree combines the activity of the flowers but also the activity of the wood). Pharmacological or cosmetic activities can be expected to be much higher in bud extracts than in common plant extracts.
