0 0 ***** ***** ***** ***** CHAIR OLSON: All right. Good morning everybody, and Happy New Year. We're go ahead and get started. The first on our agenda is FDLE, Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Good morning. MS. PENCE: Good morning. The Department will have two agenda items. First, the minutes from the December, 0, Cabinet meeting. Next is a 0 Florida Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame nominees. The Florida Law Enforcement Officer's Hall of Fame was created in 0, through Section.00 Florida Statutes, to recognize and honor our law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line for the safety and protection of Florida citizens and visitors through their work, service and exemplary honor. The first five members were inducted in 0 and plaques are displayed upstairs on the plaza level for honorees. Each year nominations are accepted from Florida Sheriff's Association, the Florida Police Chief's Association, the Police Benevolent Association, The Fraternal Order of

0 0 Police and the State Law Enforcement Chief's Association. One representative from each association also served as a selection committee that during a November, 0, public meeting identified five nominees for consideration of approval by the Governor and Cabinet. The nominees selected are Richard M. Barry, William B. Berger, James T. Moore, Neil J. Perry and JM Buddy Phillips. You have in your materials a summary of each nominee, as well as their nominations, but I would like to note that nominee James Tim Moore spent his 0-year law enforcement at FDLE, serving as Commissioner of the Department for of those years. Following Cabinet approval of the nominees, a reception and induction ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 0th. I am happy to answer any specific questions you have about Item Number. That concludes our agenda. CHAIR OLSON: Next up is Board of Trustees agenda. MR. MACKEE: Good morning. Good morning. This will be short meeting, I think. We have one

0 0 item. The Sunray Venus, LLC, has requested four new five-acre aquaculture bottom leases in Cape Romano. The 0,000 Islands Aquatic Preserve all in Gullivan Bay in Collier County. The company is requesting these leases to grow primarily Sunray Venus Clams. Additionally, they will culture hard clams, but primarily Sunray. The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Department of Environmental Protection's Florida coastal office have reviewed the item and have no comments. The proposed locations are located in critical habitat for Smalltooth Sawfish and Loggerhead Sea Turtle. Provisions are in the Army Corps general permit that we have to address and site them properly. We've done that both the Army Corps and the Nation of Marines Fishery Service have had an opportunity to review the locations and the practices and they have no objection. We're going to recommend approval. And I'd be happy to answer any questions. MS. SUMPTER: Hi. Do you think that has any interest in the future of water column modifying, water column leasing? MR. MACKEEE: It has been presented to us as

0 0 Sunray only. MS. SUMPTER: Okay. MR. MACKEE: And that's all bottom culture. MS. SUMPTER: Is it condusive or not condusive? MR. MACKEE: Only oysters. Clams don't like the water column. Let me put it that way. They are happy when they can burrow down in the sediment, so these will be bottom leases. MS. SUMPTER: Thank you. MR. MACKEE: Anyone else? CHAIR OLSON: I think that's it. MR. MACKEE: All right. Thank you. CHAIR OLSON: That concludes the January th Cabinet Aides meeting. (Meeting concluded at :0 a.m.)
