Client/Medical History and Advice/Consulting It is essential that you as a professional EpilaDerm esthetician inform all your individual customers openly and honestly during the customer consultation, particularly regarding all the benefits and limitations of the application. Preparation After the initial customer consultation, skin and hair have to be cleaned with the EpilaDerm Primer (non-alcoholic product) in order to remove all grease and oil from the skin. At the same time the EpilaDerm Primer makes the hair slightly swell allowing the sugar paste to adhere better. Therefore the use of powder is unnecessary. 3. Sugaring - root deep hair removal After cleaning the unwanted hair it has to be removed root deep AND in the direction of hair growth with the EpilaDerm s unique white-transparent Universal Sugar Pastes that are particularly light viscous and very cost-efficient. 4. EpilaDerm Enzyme Care in the Cabin Following the hair removal process, EpilaDerm Enzyme Care has to be applied to the depilated skin by the esthetician. EpilaDerm Universal Sugar Pastes EpilaDerm Universal Sugar Pastes are produced with modern production technology in a consistent, white transparent quality. Therefore all the consistencies can be used at room temperature without preheating them in a heat unit. The sugar pastes remain slightly liquid during application saving time, energy and material consumption. This allows the user to choose the optimum sugar paste depending on hair length, skin condition and application area. 9
The particular characteristics and advantages of EpilaDerm Universal Sugar Pastes: The sugar pastes offer safety, hygiene and cleanliness in the application The ingredients are different sorts of sugars and water (no extra lemon) which are considered very safe for the skin and the body and at the same time serve as a natural preservative. The sugar pastes can also be easily washed off from the skin with water or a damp cloth. Furthermore the cleaning of clothes and working material is much easier. The sugar pastes are used at room temperature They therefore do not cause astringency (heat shock) on the aperture of the hair follicle. This reduces possible heat-induced redness and blood flow of the skin. Thus in most cases the sugar pastes are suitable for sensitive skin and very sensitive areas of the body. The sugar pastes are available in different consistencies They differ in their viscosity which means that the sugar pastes can be used universally. The sugar pastes are very gentle and nourishing for the skin The sugar pastes stick almost exclusively on the hair and dead skin cells. For most customers this means more gentle hair removal with less sensitivity to pain. The resulting light exfoliating effect of the skin surface leads to an improvement of the skin condition. The sugar pastes ensure a deep root depilation also of shorter hair The hair is removed in its natural direction of growth with a minimum of breakage and irritation of the nerves within the vessels in the aperture of the hair follicle. Application: Pretreatment - root deep depilation First, the hairs have to be depilated deep root preferably with EpilaDerm Scandinavian Sugaring for best results alternatively with suitable wax methods. Thereby the hair follicle is exposed. Thus the remaining hair cells in the hair follicle are open for the enzyme application. Important: Skin cleansing immediately after depilation It is necessary and very important to clean the depilated areas after the depilation with lukewarm water or a damp cloth/compress thoroughly. The EpilaDerm Enzyme Care should be applied only after cleaning. Application of the EpilaDerm Enzyme Care First, the Enzyme Complex (phase 1) has to be applied to the skin and massaged thoroughly for one minute. Then the Accelerator (phase 2) has to be applied and massaged thoroughly for one minute as well. The active system penetrates to the bottom of the hair follicle. Tip: Turn on the application of the Accelerator (phase 2) in a little (pampering) massage until the gel system is absorbed completely. Simultaneously the moist skin surface ensures the optimum ph-value for the function of the EpilaDerm Enzyme Care. Oil-soluble cleansers should not be used because they can block the enzyme application. The function of the EpilaDerm Enzyme Care The enzymatic degradation process inactivates the hair follicles where the rest of the anagen hair cells are proteolytically dissolved by the enzyme activity of EpilaDerm. This process detracts the basis for hair growth and reduces regrowth over time or stops the regeneration of hair completely. At the same time, the skin of your customers is cooled, soothed and powered by moisture. Possibly occurring redness and/or skin irritations can be effectively reduced due to the anti-inflammatory effect of the EpilaDerm Enzyme Care. Therefore your customers need no further post-epilative skin care. 14

EpilaDerm BodyCare Enzyme Peeling To reduce ingrown hairs and smoothing of the skin Gentle exfoliation - suitable for all skin types EpilaDerm Enzyme-Peeling is gentle to use because neither friction nor grinding takes place at the skin surface (no micro-injuries). The gentle EpilaDerm Enzyme-Peeling not only leads to smooth and velvety skin, but it also keeps the aperture of the hair follicles free of dead skin cells and can thus reduce the occurrence of ingrown hairs. Application: The EpilaDerm BodyCare Enzyme-Peeling is gently massaged onto wet skin. Depending on the favored intensity it should work for 5 to 10 minutes. Then it should be thoroughly removed by washing with water. After exfoliation: Apply EpilaDerm BodyCare Pure Skin and/or EpilaDerm Regenerating Bodylotion. NOTE: The first time the peeling should be applied one week after depilation. Then the skin should be exfoliated 1 to 2 times per week depending on the skin condition. The last peeling should be 3 to 5 days before the next EpilaDerm treatment. 16
EpilaDerm BodyCare Inhibitor To optimize the depilation and to inhibit hair growth Lotion with special enzymes that inhibits hair growth In order to ensure hair growth reduction with EpilaDerm Enzyme Care the depilated skin specifically should be maintained with the BodyCare Inhibitor at home. Application: Apply 1 to 2 times daily during the first week after hair removal on the hair-free skin. Suitable for all skin types. NOTE: The BodyCare Inhibitor should not be used directly together with Epila- Derm BodyCare Pure Skin as the immunologically-enzymatic system can affect the enzymes of the Inhibitor. Tip for men: The BodyCare Inhibitor is an excellent after-shave-care that maintains the skin and can extend the time until the next shave. Function: BodyCare Inhibitor is an emulsion/lotion in which there are mainly special natural enzymes. The function of both the Inhibitor and the Enzyme-Peeling occur due to biological processes. Enzymes are protein-digesting substances. And keratin - the substance that forms our hairs - is a protein. Applying BodyCare Inhibitor to the skin, the contained enzymes are able to dissolve the hair tips on the skin surface. Thereby in the first week after the treatment an effective delay of the hair regrowth is possible. It should be emphasized that the enzymes in the BodyCare Inhibitor are very suitable for sensitive skin. The Inhibitor as an emulsion/lotion does not clog the apertures of the hair follicle so that they remain open and smooth. 17
EpilaDerm BodyCare Pure Skin To combat blemishes, pimples and ingrown hairs Gel with patented immunologically-active enzymatic formula Pimples, inflammation and impure skin are usually caused by bacteria (eg by contact infection after hair removal). A pore or an aperture of the hair follicle that is clogged with sebum, dead skin cells and/or bacteria is thus developing in the skin to a pimple. The bacteria that thrive in and on the skin must be fought. Special active ingredients in the EpilaDerm BodyCare Products The components of the antibacterial complex in the EpilaDerm Pure Skin Gel are immunoglobulins (antibodies from colostrum) and lysozyme (enzyme). Micro-bacterial inflammation in the skin can be effectively combated by the immunoglobulins attaching themselves to the bacterial cyst and changing it so that the lysozyme can penetrate the bacterial cell and destroy it.
